have to admit i was skeptical at first, but when i found this piece at the store i was impressed with it being so solid and heavy (real wood). the instructions were super easy and everything was labeled properly ... all this and less than [price]. good job Target.

Sure...it's beautiful, in the picture.
I put that thing carefullly together, and during the process kept finding the cheap veneer splitting and the pieces cracking. One dowel pushed right through the side panel when I was just screwing in the other side.

Don't touch it, or it'll break. Definitely not worth the money, even when it was on sale. Now I'm stuck with a cracked t.v. stand.

Don't get it. Go to a nicer furniture store where you can trust your t.v. on a better stand.

I bought this set about 6 months ago and I am SO in love with it. I bought the coffee table and two side tables, but could not find the TV stand anywhere, not even online. I called at least 17 Targets around me and nobody had one in stock. I was told the set had been discontinued. I was so in love with it that I kept calling stores all around me. I finally found a store about 30 minutes away that had FIVE in stock! I drove right there and bought the TV stand immediately. The pieces took a little time to put together, but wasn't too difficult. The furniture is beautiful - the wood/color is very nice, the knobs are beautiful, and we get compliments all the time.

We liked the set so much that we later found the matching buffet online, which is also amazing.

Overall, great set, great price, very satisfied! (And it is not discontinued, it is currently carried in all Target stores every time I go!) Oh well, I enjoyed a nice 30 minute drive.

This piece of furniture is gorgeous! I liked the picture online but wasn't expecting it to be so nice when I saw it out of the box. The color is great. It's a solid, heavy piece of furniture. I have assembled many, many pieces of furniture. This is, by far, the easiest one I have ever assembled. The parts were packaged in a way that made it quick and easy to find everything and step through the book. All the pieces fit together perfectly. There is no gapping; you would never know this piece came in a box. My husband and I only bought it to hold a TV in our newly-finished basement, but the piece is so nice we are now going to buy the rest of the set, even though we don't have a couch yet!

I purchased this TV stand recently and I love it. Took about 2 hours for myself and my husband to complete. It is a little overwhelming at first because of all the pieces, but once you get going it gets easier. It is a lovely dark brown color and looks very nice. I am waiting to order the shelves to place on each side to complete the look. So happy I bought this piece.

I am more than happy with this purchase. The drawers are perfect for dvds or video games. I used the open compartments for my PS3 and TiVo Box. The fit nicely. I do think the picture is a bit deceiving. Make sure you check out the exact measurements on this item. The picture seems a bit out of proportion to me. No complaints about the actual product though. I have also bought the side table and am waiting on two of the Avington Low Bookcases to arrive.

I searched all over for a new TV stand after we purchased our big screen. I did a lot of research and found this stand to be the best deal. This is a very nice TV stand for the money and it looks beautiful in my living room! I looks a lot nicer than "you put it together" furniture. I recomend this TV stand.

As a lot of the people have said already the picture described on the site here is wrong. The upper shelves are about half that size. Most, if not all, Target stores I've been to have a display model up, so check that before buying.That being said the stand is very well made and biuld like a rock. It is complicated, time consuming, and physically exhausting to put together. (Do not use power tools, just your all out strength.) The end product is very nice.

Bought and assembled the tv stand last night - looks great, is very sturdy and appears more expensive than it is. Other reviews are correct, photo shows shelves as taller than they really are. They basically hold my cable box on one side and my DVD player on the other with no room to stack them. Looks great and works, but just be aware.

This TV stand is awesome. As many reviewers have said it looks much more expensive than it is and its very sturdy.

Most reviewers gave it a 5, the reason the avg is a 4 is b/c of the few reviewers who gave it a 1 b/c the slots on top are not as big as pictured above. This is true, the slots are much smaller, the picture above is not the same product. If you need to put something much larger than a cable box or DVD player (such as a receiver) and the height of the slots matters to you, that would be a problem. But for 99% of people who will have a DVD player on one side and cable box on the other this looks great.

It took about an hour to set up and I was watching TV. You won't be disapointed with this.
