I picked this stand over many others because of it's hardwood and veneer construction and clean and simple lines. No cheap particle board here! Almost all inexpensive assemble-it-yourself furniture is made out cheap particle board that falls apart the minute you try to move it wrong or if it accidentally gets wet.

I have quite a bit of experience assembling furniture, but this still took about 2.5 hours. Assembly instructions were easy to understand and had great diagrams. This stand takes a lot of cams and locks to assemble it, but this is why it feels so rock solid when you are done. It is very stable and square, with zero wobble. The drawer bottoms are a little on the flimsy side, and I suggest assembling the drawers with glue, not just screws as the instructions tell you to. Drawers are always the first thing to break.

This makes the rest of my furniture look so shabby that now I'm going to have add a few more pieces of this line!

We bought this piece and love it. Does not look cheap. Holds our 60 inch tv with no problems. Took longer than others to put it together but had no real problems. My boyfriend did it himself and added wood glue to help keep things tight. Its a great looking piece of furnituer.

I have a question about the Avington TV stand... My husband and I have a few other pieces of the Avington collection and love them. We are looking to buy the TV stand as well, however we also need a new TV to occupy the stand. We don't have a lot of money to spend on a TV and are most likely going to purchase a VIZIO 32" flat screen TV. We're concerned that the 32" TV might look silly on such a large piece of furniture... For those of you who have purchased this stand, do you think a 32" TV would look silly? Thanks for your input!

I searched the internet for a few days looking for a TV stand for less than $200 that would suit our needs. This one certainly fits the bill! It wasn't hard to put together -- my husband did it by himself and he's not really the DIY kind of person! The piece is beautiful -- I love the dark wood. It seems to be of very good quality for the price you pay. The only reason I gave this 4 stars rather than 5 is because of the poor construction of the drawers. They look great from the outside, but the inside wood seems to be quite flimsy and I'm concerned about them breaking down the road. I have a curious toddler who likes to open and close them and I've been trying to keep her away as best I can. Still very very happy I found this TV stand.

This TV stand is ok for the money, however, it's very difficult to get the drawers level and several pieces were not made properly. I would not buy it again.

this is absolutely beautiful. Very nice feel of the wood and coloring is very even and smooth texture. No problem putting together. Drawers actually fit - most put together yourself pieces don't or they take forever to align.
Terrific weight to the knobs. I'd buy another for any room in the house and look forward to adding pieces to the collection.

I get more compliments on this piece of furniture and it was not hard to put together. Read directions and don't be in a hurry and wow you will have a very nice piece of furniture. I will return and purchase more of this line, looks very nice and solid. Don't hesistate or second guess, you will love it.

-I bought the Avington TV stand a couple of months ago and put it together myself in under an hour. The directions are clear, well labeled, very simple.
-After you get it assembled it seems completely rock solid. I have never been able to say that about a piece of assembled-in-my-living room furniture before!!
-The stand is holding our 47" tv, the edges of which are just about flush with either end of the stand. It could definitely hold a bigger one if you did not care about the edges going beyond the sides of the stand.
-I have two matching avington bookcases on either side of the stand and all together they make a very pretty, very functional entertainment stand that matches the look and quality of my sofa, coffee and end tables purchased at a major furniture store for a LOT more than these pieces cost me! I couldnt be happier with them!

This is a beautiful TV stand. My only complaint is that the two drawers do not close all the way. They are only slightly open where you cannot tell unless you are the one trying to close them, but I do wish they closed flush against the stand.

I bought two Avington pieces last week and couldn't be more pleased with them. The price I paid is similar to laminated plastic/particleboard furniture, but the quality is more like assembled, solid wood pieces costing at least 50-100% more at conventional furniture stores. I'm truly amazed to have gotten solid wood furniture at plastic prices!

The parts were well packed and cushioned so that there was no damage to any of them. The parts were accurately cut and fit together perfectly. The only missing part was a small screw that holds the back on the side table, which won't be an issue in the table's long-term usefulness.

The assembled drawers are square, fit well within the tables, and their rollers glide smoothly. The larger drawers on the TV stand even include hidden bracing to support the weight of items stored in them.

I'm confident that I'll be getting many years of good service from these pieces.
