Worked for 12 months, completely dead now and one of the circuit boards inside had some sort of short because the unit now smells like an electrical fire. It had been on the fritz in recent weeks, taking longer and longer to power on. I would recommend staying far away from this, which is a shame because aesthetically it was a great solution.

We purchased the Audiovox 12" Under the cabinet TV/DVD combo last Christmas. It is mounted under a kitchen cabinet and is great. So nice to be able to see the news or listen to a CD while cooking dinner. My children pull up bar stools and watch TV after school while having a snack. I love how the screen folds up underneath to hide when you need to. We are buying two more for Christmas gifts this year for family members and have never had one problem at all. One the best electronic investments we have in the house. A+ all the way!

Local TV doesn't come in well, no satellite jack, cheeply made, to much plastic. I took it back.

This lasted us 10 months and was great while it lasted. It died suddenly after 10 months (no tv/radio/or dvd) and we will buy another product to replace it.

I bought this after Thanksgiving 08. Installed in Dec 08. It ran fine, used it daily, picture was great, and the basic cable with HD gave a noticeable improvement in the picture.

A couple of days ago, the set started scanning for channels when I turned it on. The unit also started turning itself off, powering down, & the clock would go to 12:00 am, and I could reset the clock, turn it on, but the LCD display faded bright & dark, and then the set would turn off. I could get the radio to work but the channels weren't coming in very well. I tried the standard LCD fix and unplugged the TV from the wall electric outlet and let it sit for an hour, but that didn't seem to help when I plugged it in, it didn't fix it. I shut it down & left it sit all day and the TV did come on after some slight pressure on the panel, but I couldn't change channels without the unit shutting down. I was able to get my DVD out fortunately. But I'm sad this TV turned out to be a dog, it was great while it lasted. I guess it cost me about $30.00/mth to enjoy it. I am going to try to get a response out of Audiovox, but their website doesn't seem to recognize this model. With only a 90 day warranty, I guess they know these are really prone to failure.

Have had the unit for 1 1/2 years and loved it before yesterday. Great picture and perfect for cooking/doing dishes. The most annoying thing when it worked was how slowly the tv channels changed. So, as of yesterday the plastic swivel that lowers and spins the tv cracked. Before I bought I had read how fragile this part is and was always very careful with it. (two hands slowly) Well, the crack turned into a tear and I couldn't get the tv to collapse back up so I took the plastic part off myself. Called service for a new part and they said they couldn't mail me it. So for a [..] piece of plastic now I have to take the whole unit down and mail it to Buffalo. Plus pay there flat fee of [price] to fix. Figure I'm out [price] for a tv I know will brake again in less than a year. Do yourself a favor and pay extra for better quality. Don't get yourself in the same predicament.

Quick tuner (using cable)
Simple remote
Modern design
Blue Indiglo backlight

Cons:
Sometimes there is a humming noise
Slow dvd load time
Some DVD's don't play (Error message "Bad Disc") These same disks play on my Toshiba DVD player and PS3. Go figure.


Other than the week DVD player if you are using this just for th TV or radio I would say go for it if this isn't your main tv.
