I purchased this product on sale [...]. The first unit worked for about 3 weeks. Then, the Add Water light came on, would not go off, and the unit stopped working. Well, I returned it for another figuring it was a bad unit. Wrong! The second unit never worked at all! So, figuring the third time would be a charm, I exchanged the unit once more. I plugged it in, added water and the unit appeared to work. Well, after unplugging it for a gentle cleaning, this one stopped working also. All three had the same problem- Add Water light came on, stopping the ice making process, and would never go off. Don't waste your time and money on this piece of junk. Trust me, I tried three of them!

I've had my ice maker for about a year now, it gets used on a daily basis.

I started useing distilled water, it makes nice clear ice cubes. Only problem is the sensor thinks it's empty all the time, I ended up bypassing the water sensor and since I have done this, it makes ice flwalessly.

Recomended - just be ware this is not perfect.

I'm an Interior Designer and purchased this item for several clients and reviews were split down the middle. Most were purchased for vacation homes where this came in handy at the wetbar while others were for small Manhattan apartments where ice-makers were nonexistant. For the most part people were happy..ice was produced quickly and efficiently while others found that the machine just didn't work. For those, I assured returning to Target and swapping for another would solve their problems, which it did.

I love this machine.....I use it almost daily.Hubby kept busting the blue ice packs and we decided to give this machine a try despite some of the reviews.
I have had no problems at all with this ice maker,it has worked like a dream.I use it to fill up my ice bin and then to fill freezer bags for hubby to take to work, he says the ice last quite awhile in a cooler.

I bought this ice maker on Saturday, 5/9/09 and so far still working great. The only problem is that I can't change the size of the ice. I press the button for the 3 different sizes (I want the small), but no matter what light is lit up, the only size I get is the large. Other than that, it works great so far.

Get used to warm drinks. I took a chance that some of the negative reviews were just flukes. "Wrong" I used my machine the first day. "wow" was I impressed. It did deliver cubes about every 9 - 11 minutes as stated. I was surprised how quickly it accumulated. Before I knew it I had about 10lbs. of ice. I put the machine away because it took up way to much room on the counter. One week later I took the machine out to make more ice. Added the water and started the machine. It started out just like before. I left the room and heard the first then the second load, then nothing. I checked to make sure the machine wasn't out of water or overloaded with ice. I noticed that it had tripped the wall outlet breaker so I reset it. As soon as I plugged the ice maker in it blew the circut again. The same thing happened in other parts of the house. So after only 2 weeks I returned the unit. I almost picked up another emerson unit but the other unit boxes looked as if they had been retaped. I thougt it best to try a totally different brand. Of course the other models cost more but you get what you pay for, right? I think next time I'll choose a different brand. So stay away from this unit. Only a lucky few got good machines, but it's not the norm. Too bad, because I liked the price.

We have a ice machine in our refrigerator but it does not make enough ice if we have big parties so we got this one for Halloween. It works absolutely great I put bottled water next to it in case I ran out of water and would fill it when I needed. It works absolutely great and I don;t have to worry about running out of ice. I recommend this to anybody.

I received this product as a gift. Loved it while it lasted. Just didn't last long enough. Like another unhappy customer our unit developed a crack. That which my 8 yr. old niece discovered. I am taking my unit back! But do plan to try another brand. Surely there's another brand that will last longer than 6 mos.

We bought our ice maker about six months ago and it started to break about two weeks ago. We would have to turn it off and turn it back on to reset it for the machine to make ice. The plastic tray that dispenses the ice right after it's frozen cracked. And finally it just stopped working all together.
