People love hearing about salt lamps when I give talks, and how crystalline salt helps to increase negative ions. The feeling generated by negative ions is one you find at the ocean, or in the high you experience in the midst of a big storm, or near a big waterfall. Positive ions, on the other hand, are full of pollution. Learn how to benefit.

Yosemite Falls has a negative ion count of over 100,000 per cubic centimeter. Fresh, country air has a negative ion count of around 2,000 to 4,000 per cubic centimeter. Los Angeles during rush hour has a negative ion count of around 100 per cubic centimeter. Humans respond most positively to a ratio of 2 negative ions to 1 positive ion, but such a ratio is rare at best.

Salt lamps provide a simple, natural way to increase the negative ions in your home.

Crystalline salt is a natural air ionizer that boosts the negative ions in the air. Tests show that lit salt crystal lamps improve the ratio of negative ions to our environment. The heated salt crystal pulls water molecules from the air to its surface, the salt goes into the solution of the water, neutralizes any positive ions (and the attached pollution), and emits the neutralized molecule back into the environment.

Most common negative-ion generators incorporate electrostatic technology to produce ions. But many think they stop working after two or three months because the fine-tipped metallic needles become blunted and stop working.

I cannot attest to whether all the benefits claimed for this lamp are true, but I can tell you that I love this lamp. I have it on my bureau. I turn it on when I first get up and I turn it off when I go to bed. It runs all day long in my bedroom. Whenever I look at it, I feel soothed. It's beautiful. It doesn't get hot and it gives off a gentle light that reminds me of candlelight (although steadier). I ordered 3 and gave two away as gifts. The new owners also love them. I'm thinking of buying more...

There are not many times fantastic can be used nowadays for pretty much anything. Especially when you extend yourself over the internet things happen. I'm totally pleased and the quality of my two salt lamps is exceptional. Absolutely perfect! I must say I feel so much better and I'm more energetic since I've plugged them. Pure magic. I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to deal with this company again.

I have salt lamps between me and all my computers, and my stack of recorders and amplifiers. They make a beautiful nightlight, too. At Xmas I set an orange stuck with cloves on an endtable by a salt lamp. The side facing away from the lamp was completely browned, while the side facing the light was still fresh and orange weeks later. Cut flowers on that table keep extra long. And I was cured of cancer with non-toxic treatments to the electromagnetic field, very modern, in Germany. I'm a great fan of these salt lamps!

I am very happy with my purchase. It is heavy and just the right size for my bed side table. It has an interesting shape and color. The base is a good strong wood one. The cord a good length and the on/off switch is a button which I like. Overall I am quite happy and impressed with this item.

I have emphysema, COPD, and a touch of asthma, and my husband has asthma. I ordered this lamp on 2/14/09, recieved it 2/18/09 and plugged it in, in the bedroom. When we woke up this morning, we could both breath easier. Usually I walk outside to feed my dog and am out of breath before I make it back to the house. This morning, I walked out to the pen and back, twice and was barely breathing hard. This is the most wonderful purchase I have ever made. I intend on buying 2 more to place throughout the house. I would not have purchased this lamp had I not read the reviews. Thanks.

"the amount of ions emitted by a lamp varies in direct proportion to the exposed surface area of the salt lamp: the larger the surface area; the greater the output of negative ions. Negative ion output drops off dramatically within a few feet of the lamp regardless of its size and ion output. As a result, if it is ionization you are looking for, you may prefer to have more salt lamps placed throughout a room rather than one excessively large one."

I have several of them in my home. I love them. I was so admaized how much less dusting I have to do now even! I have 2 sick cats I care for, and these lamps have helped improve their over all health. Anyone that has allergies, asthma, or any type of chronic sinuis problems I suggest give it a try. Keep on in your bedroom and one in your main room of your house at least. I have one in every room of my house now. I started with just having one in my bedroom and it grew from there!
