I can't recommend this product enough!! Our son absolutely loves it! I only got it today, so I cannot attest to its longevity, but I would gladly buy it again. The remote is also great - it has a loop attachment that is great for hanging it on the doorknob to the nursery so I can turn the unit on without disturbing the baby.
I bought this in hopes that it would help with our baby's transition from his bassinet in our room to his crib in his own room (he's approx. 4 months old). While I was attaching it to our crib, our son got restless and began crying, so I put him in the crib and turned on the music/motion/lights option. He immediately calmed down and started cooing at the little sea creatures. He laid there, completely enthralled and calm, for nearly 20 minutes!!
In short, this is a great product! A little more expensive than the others, but the remote makes it totally worth it!

I bought this for my new born son AND HE LOVED IT. It was the only thing that we could use to keep him from crying in his crib. The thing did break after a few weeks of use, however the paper inside the box said not to return this item to the store and to call bright starts if it breaks. so, i did just that. they mailed me a new one no questions asked. this broke again, and again i call the manufacturer. they stated that this model was out of stock at the moment and it would take about 5 weeks. I explained that i could not wait 5 weeks. with in 2 days a boxed showed up at my door. it was not this model but very close. then a week later this one should up at my door. this is a great company to deal with...even though it is not the best product...they will stand behind it and keep shipping u a new one until it works!!!!

New moms, just to be aware -- sometimes reading the bad reviews is what will help you the most because a lot of the time if a company has a ton of bad reviews they will have someone pretend to be a "new mom" and write about how "amazing" the product is and how "the company stands behind their products". Some of the people I know have bought items because of the good reviews, and then the product ends up being a terrible buy.

My 6 week old loves this soother, but my husband and I are wishing we had registered for a different one and definitely read the reviews before keeping. It eats up 4 C batteries within a few weeks of use and fits terribly on the side of the crib, because our crib is curved. After replacing the batteries, it now does not even scroll anymore. She still loves looking at the bright light and the ocean sounds, but we are now just waiting for something else to stop working on it. Definitely NOT worth the money. Of course we don't keep the box and didn't have a receipt because it was a gift, so now it was just a waste of the price. Our advice is listen to the majority of the reviews and don't waste your time or money!!

After reading several of the reviews below I was afraid to buy this product but couldn't find one I liked better. It had all the features I wanted....fish that move, soothing music or water bubbles, two volume settings, and a light that could go on or off. So I figured I would take a chance and just keep my receipt if I had a problem. I am happy to say that after several months of using it every day it still works great. The scrolling did stop after a month but I learned it was all related to how much power the C batteries had. Once I changed the C batteries the scrolling feature worked again. Since the old batteries still had power I put them back in and used all other features except the scrolling till the batteries completely drained about a month later. My little one loves the music and I feel her relax as soon as I turn it on. I am happy I decided to still buy it.

I have been through no less than 4 of these pieces of garbage. I have spent more time & effort on this thing than it is worth. The one I received from my baby shower NEVER scrolled, the second, third and fourth ones would play for 30 seconds, and then start the music over with the same note over & over, or play for a few seconds & then make a horribly startling electronic shorting out noise & then sometimes restart, sometimes not. I am no longer able to return them to Target because the original receipt is older than 90 days, so I am out of luck. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS TRASH! It took all the willpower I had to not smash the last one into tiny pieces because I am so frustrated! The baby enjoyed it for the 30 seconds it did work which made it even more disappointing that it is so poorly made.

I use this product everyday for my son's naps and bedtime. I read some previous reviews saying that the product stopped working after a short time and I had a similar problem but you have to replace the "C" batteries not the "AA" ones. I even called Baby Einstein and the customer service was awesome. They walked me through trying some different things and were soooo nice! They stand behind their products and said they would be more than happy to replace it if needed. Of course I just need to change the "correct" batteries. I would definitely recommend this product!

When we first purchased this, we started to play with it and it worked great. We attached it to the crib and it stopped working. We replaced the 4 AA batteries in the back and it still didn't work. After going through the directions, we found out that it also takes 4 C batteries along the backside bottom. The instructions told us that there is enough life in the batteries for customers to play with it while in the stores, but when you take it home and take out the paper strip for the batteries, it "dies". The Lullaby Soother is a GREAT addition to our crib. We actually bought two because we're having twins, so don't let other peoples lazy keep you from a great toy.

I have this unit and like many others.. .the scrolling of the fish doesn't work. I just contacted Baby Einstein, who transferred me to Kids II and they are replacing it for free. They are shipping me the newer version of this model. If you are experiencing problems...call Baby Einstein!

unfortunately, this product was a total bummer!!!! it is only designed to mount on a flat crib rail...we have a sleigh style crib. we rigged it with some zip ties, which looked terrible. sadly, it only worked for a week. the motor stopped spinning the little sea creatures. i exchanged it. the next one worked for 3 weeks. the lights flicker like they have a short and the motor is broken again. it only plays the sound. i am so disgusted...i misplaced my receipt. what a waste of money and time. should have purchased an old school crib mobile that you wind up!!! maybe they are made in america...........
