I purchased this cute display at Target a couple of weeks ago; however, assembly was a nightmare! Some of the connecting pieces didn't fit together correctly, and we had to get out our toolbox and superglue to piece it together. Considering how much this display cost, I think the quality was very poor. On the other hand, once we assembled it, it was really cute.

when I got this in from ups some of te parts were missing and tbey would not replace it.

If you are interested in this item, stop, rethink and turn away. I am very shocked that after several poor reviews that Target would even offer this item for sale. When I got the box home I could not put it together because some of the parts were torn and the connectors were broken on a couple of the penguins. One positive is Target's return policy.

My husband and I took it out of the box and right away we could see that it is very flimsy and cheaply made. One of the penguins legs was broken. We just stopped and put it back in the box. We could tell it would be a waste of time to put it together. I will be taking it back. Its a shame, especially considering the price.

I purchased a set of these (the 3 penguins, the large snowman, the countdown snowman and the polar bear).

PROS:
the only pro I can honestly think of is the fact that Target may let you return this for a refund.

CONS:
1. takes a long time to assemble
2. rips and falls apart easily
3. very unstable and does not include adequate pieces to stabilize...one example, although there are many, is that you have to puncture holes in the fabric to keep the pieces together and the fabric is already very fragile like panty hose.
4. must have an extra spot light for the penguin set at night because the lights are very dim and it is hard to tell what they are without it
5. If the wind blows, you can forget it! We secured the large snowman with larger stakes (not included)...(a stake every inch at the base) after the wind blew it over several times. The base stayed secure but the actual metal pole inside snapped in half. We are now attempting to secure it with re bar. The PENGUIN JOY SET, which is much smaller, had the same issues (needing larger stakes, falling over with small gusts of wind, feet falling off, etc.)
6. overpriced for the quality and amount of work involved (include another [price]to the price for the extra equipment needed to set up such as: stakes, re bar, string, wire, floral wire, etc.)

This seems like waaaayyyy too much trouble. We have been trying to stabilize this set for 3 days to no avail.

Just purchased this last night. Was torn and dirty. The nose would not fit on the large penguin and there was a broken bulb. Looked as though someone had returned the item. Hope to be able to return it. After reading the other reviews, I won't purchase another. Too bad, because they would have looked nice in my yard.

Thank you for the honest reviews, I was strongly contemplating going to Target tomorrow and picking this up. It was just so cute in the store, yes, maybe a bit overpriced for the size. Now that I know the quality is bad I won't be buying it. Thanks again!

My wife and I purchased this item this past weekend (Nov 14) from our local Target. For the price I paid I was very disappointed in the quality of this item. The covering over the penguins is VERY CHEAP. I'll be surprised if I get another years use out of it. I would not recommend buying this item - spend your money on something else!
