My mom bought this for our baby as he was having some reflux and apnea issues. At first I was not sure if I liked this sleeper or not. The back is supposed to raise up so that the baby can sleep at an angle for reflux issues. The cocoon fails at this. It puts the baby's neck at an uncomfortable angle. So, we ditched that idea and just used the sleeper flat. Our baby loves it and sleeps well in his cocoon. I love that he can be rocked in it with a very gentle push, and his own motions can even start the rocking too. It seems to be very soothing to him. My only other complaint is that sometimes its a little awkward to put him in the sleeper, especially as he is getting bigger. He is almost to the point where he needs to move on to his crib. I hope he can sleep in his crib as well as he sleeps in the cocoon. Overall, we have been pleased with the cocoon and, although a little pricey, we would recommend it to our friends.

Our baby was having trouble sleeping. He woke up constantly with gas or reflux, and he would fall asleep fine while rocking in my arms, but the moment I would transfer him to the crib, he would wake right up. The first night he slept in this was amazing... we had it next to our bed, and he would wake up and we would just rock it and he would fall back asleep. But several nights after that were back to square one - he didn't like it at all. Now, it works great for those times when he is having trouble going to sleep and needs to be rocked and rocked. We use it every night for about half the night. It has turned out to be a lifesaver.
Pros:
*You can put baby in and rock it yourself so your arms don't get tired rocking baby
*It also bounces a little, which our baby likes
*You can jiggle it at baby's first sign of waking, and train baby not to be picked up every time he/she wakes
* doesn't take up much space and is pleasing-looking
Cons:
* hard to get baby in and out until you get the hang of it
* has a zipper to close the front, which can be loud to zip once baby has finally fallen asleep
* seems to get a little lopsided from time to time. We are constantly rotating the mattress.
* back doesn't lift up very much - probably not enough to alleviate reflux.
Overall:
If you are at your wit's end with baby's sleep, this is definitely worth a try. In the end, I am so glad we bought it. It is a great way to rock baby to sleep or when they wake up out of a sleep cycle in a gentler manner than with a battery operated swing.

We have used this cocoon ever since our son came home from the hospital. He seemed to like it right away. The swinging motion helps calm him down when it's time to sleep. The only thing that has been problematic is the position of the baby's head: Our son prefers his head always turned to the same side and this has caused a bit of a flat-head but hopefully this will change when he transfers to a crib (yes, we try to position the head differently but eventually he has turned it to the same side again). I am interested to see how the cocoon will work when he's heavier (now about 12 lbs), it seems to be sagging a bit already.
Might be difficult to use if a person has back problems since one has to bend down in order to put baby in/take baby out.
