Almost everybody out there has heard of Dance Dance Revolution. Commonly referred to as DDR, this game originated as an arcade game in Japan. The object is to hit the four arrows on the floor of the machine in coordination with arrows that scroll up the screen while enjoying some exhilirating dance music. The original game, which was first released in 1998, only featured less than 10 songs, but over the years, the song list has extended into the hundreds. Konami original songs from other Konami/Bemani titles such as beatmania IIDX, Guitar Freaks/Drum Mania, and Pop'n Music are frequently crossed over into DDR so intense players can enjoy the songs. Anyways, after 10 years of success, Dance Dance Revolution X is celebrating everything good about DDR. With a rockin' song list consisting of over 70 songs, DDR X is a great game for expert players and dancing newbies alike. Some popular licensed songs have been included in DDR X such as Here It Goes Again by OK Go (as featured in the hit music simulation game Rock Band), Big Girls Don't Cry by Fergie, and U Can't Touch This by MC Hammer (as featured in TV's Family Guy). For the advanced gamers, DDR X includes some retro DDR songs from the first couple mixes such as Butterfly, Dub-I-Dub, Hero, and Get Up'n Move. Also, the set of planet-themed songs seen in the Japanese version of Dance Dance Revolution SuperNOVA 2 such as Poseidon, Uranus, Saturn, and Pluto are included in the set. The original rating scale of 1-10 has also been modified to rate 1-20 for better clarification. Also, the dance announcer that shouted comments in DDR Max, DDR Max 2, DDR Extreme, DDR Extreme 2, DDR SuperNOVA, and DDR SuperNOVA 2 has been changed into a modern version. This hip voice is sure to encourage players. So come on! What are you waiting for? Get up, get this game, and start breakin' a sweat to celebrate the history of Dance Dance Revolution from 1998-2008.
