I don't understand all the reviews that say the water tastes bad. When I got mine home I flushed out the water reserve tank/dispenser and followed the instructions on filling the cooler and dispensing 4 cups of water from the cold tap and hot tap. I did this. The first water I ran through was bottled water, then I bought a water bottle with a filter in it for the dispenser and my water has been absolutely fine. No taste at all. I love this. It keeps the water very cold.

Target was very good about taking this unit back, however I should have taken the time to read the reviews about this unit then I never would have wasted my time buying it. I also wasted water. As soon as I tasted the water I almost threw up. I was willing to do what I was told to do to take away the horrible flavor. I am a patient person and was willing to give the unit the benefit of the doubt. However, after I again wasted time (doing the procedure that was suggested)and then putting yet another bottle of water on the unit, to still having to taste burnt rubber or maybe smoldering old tires. I figured it was time to take it back to Target. I would buy the same model as my old one that bit the dust after 14 years but it was a reconditioned one that I bought at my water store and they do not sell reconditioned ones anymore. Do not buy this model!!!! Find another maker.

I experienced the initial 'off flavor' of the water, tasted like rubber. That went away after 2-3 gallons of water had passed through the system. Since then the flavor has been fine - tasted like I expected it to.

The refrigerated water isn't quite as cold as I'd like, but it is chilled. I like the hot water feature for the occasional cup of tea. Overall I'm satisfied with the purchase!

Hey the price was great!!!We bought this for my elderly mother for her instant coffee and so she can have cold water within reach.We are very happy with the taste.I have bottled water delivered to my home so I gave her one of them.The taste is fine.We are very happy with this product and so is my Mom...The most important one of all!!

This water cooler makes the water taste awful and doesn't make the water cold enough. I was really disappointed and had to return it.

My wife bought this water cooler after seeing it in the advertisement. It was a good price. BUt we also have the water with a bad taste. I think its Chlorine and I will have it tested ASAP. IT is as bad as my pool after shocking it.
Needless to say we will be returning this.

The only relief I have gotten with this dispenser is to unplug it. I needed the water cooler because our town water tastes soil like every summer. I didn't care if the water was cold because the biggest thing I needed it for was coffee, cooking, and making juice. I don't notice the taste with it unplugged. I would rather have a normal machine but this was all they had for sale at Target. I wouldn't have bought it if I had read the reviews.

I've had this cooler for two days and the taste is awful. I followed the recommendations in the owners manual with no change to the taste. This will be going back, not worth the money.

Amen!!! I did the same thing. Tried both models of B/D dispensers and with both came the terrible taste and the aggravation of wasted water and cleaning each of them twice with no results!!! I took mine right back to Target. They didn't give me any grief about returning them. I wasn't about to try to deal with B/D. Don't waste your time or money on this product!!!
