Lasted less than 3 months--I don't know what I expected for [price], but definitely a waste of money. They should advertise it as a "disposable dvd player". At least then you would know you would be throwing it away soon.

I bought this today and I got home to install this and it needs a cable that is extra money. That the salesman should have told me i needed! So, I had to go all the way across town to Target and the salesman; Tells me i do not have to have this special cabel. So, I go back home to try to hook this dvd player up, and it does not still work. I'm returning it back to the store tomorrow and get one that i don't have to pay extra for a cabel. And the buttons are really cheap!

I have had this DVD player less than a year and threw it away today, as it no longer recognizes any DVD. When a DVD is put in the player you can hear it LOUDLY working and then it says NO DVD.
The buttons have to be pressed really hard and even then don't always work.
This is a cheaply made DVD player. Put your money towards a better model.

Cuts off

The first time I used this dvd player, it cut off right in the middle of the movie. I gave it another try with a different DVD and it did the same thing.
Also, the red light "off" light is highly annoying and very bright. I suggest staying away from this one. Mine is going back to the store ASAP

RCA products are a huge waste of money. I've owned 2 different models in less than 4 years. The second, which was a gift, was 3 weeks out of warranty when it quit last week. I too had to unplug and plug in with the first. This latest just quit with no warning. Now my DVDs are stuck in the machine and I can't get anyone to tell me how to get them out. The only thing worse than an RCA product is RCA Customer Service which is totally non-existent.

Noisy. Clunky. Bad Buttons. Lousy.

It's cheap, but there's a good reason.
The buttons are incredibly cheap and only work with careful pressing and holding (and a bit of wiggling).
There is a constant rumble while a disc is inside spinning.
The remote is tiny and confusing.
The standby light is a gigantic, piercing red laser. I swear that you could light a room with this thing just by turning it off. But when it's on, there's no light at all!
The only redeeming quality is that the picture quality is pretty good.
Even though it's cheap, the overall clunkyness is just unacceptable. Trust me, do not buy this one.

I purchased this DVD player because of the price. I figured the picture and sound quality would be lacking, but assumed it would at least function properly. I was wrong. I had problems getting it to turn on from the start. I ended up throwing it away after it began to turn off halfway through a movie. Also, it has a ridiculously bright red LED light that stays on when the power is off, I had to cover it because it bugged me so much.

Low end

I bought this more for it's compact size than it's low price. I need a DVD player that will fit in a small drawer, and for that purpose it works fine.
As for performance: It feels cheaply built - lightweight, cheap plastic - feels like one good bump would break it. I originally hooked it up with the RCA outputs (red, yellow, white plugs) and I had issues with the colors - the movies I tried on it didn't look any different than my non-upconverting DVD player and for some reason the movies all looked darker when playing on this DVD player. I tried lightening the contrast on my TV but there were some parts that were just too dark. So then I tried connecting it via HDMI and I couldn't even get a signal to my TV. I am still troubleshooting this and it may not be a DVD player issue, but there are enough question marks in my mind with this player that I will return it and try another brand/model.

Frustrating Junk!

We bought this DVD player to use infrequently in our daughter's playroom. It has never consistenly worked from the day it came out of the box. We have had a real problem with getting it to turn on, we have to unplug it and plug it back in to sometimes play a DVD. During a visit with family members we discovered they had the same DVD player with the same problems. It's a pain and we will return it, spend a little more and, hopefully get something more reliable. Our daughter gets excited about picking out a movie and then we tell her she can't watch it after all. It is very frustrating.

I just had a friend of mine purchase one of these. It was the last one the store had and did not appear to have been a returned item. The first thing I noticed was how light it was, the second was that it was entirely made of cheap plastic. After opening and plugging it in I tried to eject the cd tray and it would not work. Beware and keep your reciept if you order one of these.
