My wife and I bought this DSLR in October before the birth of our first son. We decided we'd spend more on a nice still camera and spend less on a video camera. It was a great decision as the still photos are much more enduring than any of the video clips.
I've since taken a few photography classes thru local continuing ed facilities and this camera has a nice blend of advanced features and ease of use so even if you don't know about f-stops, ISO speeds or anything else like that you'll still get great photos from this camera.
One of my biggest gripes with the less expensive digital cameras is that they take pretty bad low light photos. With this camera set on "full auto" mode I've taken great bright pictures inside our house with no lighting beyond the built in flash. I was really amazed!
In short this camera frame and the included lens are perfect for people who've owned digital pocket cameras and are looking for a more satisfying photography experience -- the price is right and the camera works wonderfully.

I just got this camera for Christmas, I have always owned the cheap digital ones that blur everytime you take a picture. I hated my cheap camera when I would try to get a picture of my dogs and it took FOREVER for my camera to shoot!
Well no more!! This camera is awesome...it is a little overwhelming at first with all the features but after a day I had it down pat!
Every shot I took was perfect, up close, moving shots, best of all I can shoot continuously and the camera keeps up with me!
The camera itself is great, but if you are shooting from far off distances I suggest a better lens and a better flash.

Ok here ar ethe Oops... I wish this camera had a button that said: want to use the flash or not? I wish this camera had a button that said…. Take pictures at night? go ahead, I will give you the choice to yes or no the use of the flash and go auto or fully manual… I wish it had a button that said “reset” to previous settings. I mess a lot with the ISO and speeds for sports and night photography but if you don’t put it all back your future pictures (even on P setting - that is Auto) will be grainy especially if you raised the ASA to 800 – overall, good lightweight awesome camera. It is great for sports photography and just about everything else.
