I got this game for Christmas. At first I was unsure whether I wanted it or not, since I had weed problems in Animal Crossing: Wild World for my DS. However, I'm certainly glad I got this game.
PROS:
-If you want a change of scenery, you can take a bus to the city, where you have access to a wide variety of shops.
-When creating a design at the Able Sisters Shop, you can now edit each part of the clothing design: sleeves, back, and front.
-Graphics are awesome! :)
CONS:
-Weeds are still there. However, I haven't had quite as large a problem with them as I had with Wild World.
-Instead of answering questions that determine where your house will be, Nook will let you look at four houses in various locations throughout your town. Once you pick one, though, the other houses don't seem to go away.
-Sometimes neighbors get locked out of their houses, saying they've dropped their house key into the water, so you have to fish for it. You don't have to find it for them, but if you want to be a good friend, you might as well.
All in all, Animal Crossing City Folk is an awesome, cute game. I highly recommend it. :D

I have "Animal Crossing: Wild World" for my Nintenso DS and I was hoping that this had the same kind of thing but different things to do. Okay, it is really fun but don't be fooled by the title. You don't live in the city. You live in the town like you do in the first animal crossing. But, you can take a bus ride to city sometimes. It was cool but not as much as I thought there would be. In the city, there is:
1. GracieGrace- a designer shop with clothing and furniture but the prices blow the roof! Hey, it's desgner clothing made by Gracie herself.
2. Katrina's Shop- In the first animal crossing, Katrina, the fortune teller had a tent that came about every two weeks. Now she has her own shop.
3. Redd's Shop- Redd is a rip off! Watch out for him! He sells you conterfeit pantings sometimes! It is 3,000 bells just to become a member. Becoming a member means that you are able to buy stuff from his shop.
4. Shampoodle- Harriet, the poodle, can change your hairdo or make you look like one of your miis.
5. Happy Room Academy HQ- The Happy Room Academy board looks at how you design your house and rates it. Go talk to Lyle at the building to talk about how to improve your score and there is a model room. The model room is a room that the board selected as their favorite room for the week.
6. The Marquee- Go watch Dr. Shrink tell you a funny story and he gives you an emotion. You can store up to four at one time and then replace any of them. What is an emotion? Do you know that when you see two people talking in the game and things happen above their head? That's an emotion!
7. Auction House- You can auction things off and buy things at the auction house with your friends.
That's only at the city! At the main place, town, you can go into Nook's shop where you can buy and sell just about anything and there's the Able Sisters where you can buy and design clothes. You have neighbors who you can talk to and special visistors come along every once in a while, too. You can dig up cool stuff, fish, catch bugs, and make friends. There is also the town hall where you can mail letters and access your account. You have the Main Gate where friends can visit you or you can visit friends. You can pick up free stuff there, too. Last, but not least, the museum. There, you can donate fish, bugs, and fossils. There is also a coffee shop there where every Saturday night a performer, K.K. Kool, comes and plays a song and then give it to you to play at your house! This is a great game!

I bought this game because someone in the store told me it was better than sliced bread. Took it home and played and boy did I think he lied. I almost sold it, but am now totally addicted to the game. You would think I am 10 they way I have to be made to go to bed and I'm 27. I always just want to play one more minute. this is a great simulation game IF you like simulation games similar to games like the Sims.

Animal Crossings is the most fun game in the whole wide world. I bought this game because I figured it would be just as much fun as my ds game and gamecube game. This game is even more fun then those two games. This fish on this game looks real when you catch them. I would recommend this game to anyone.
The person on the review who said this game is retarded must be referring to themselves. I hate when people use the word retarted.

This game is great for all kids. Even for teens. My friends and I love playing with eachother on it and having fun. I think the coolest part on it is that you can decorate your houses. It's like being a mini-interior decorator. I think its for people that have creativity and an internet connection to visit eachothers towns.
P.S. I saw one review saying that if you get this game you will have no life. Was that really neccessary? I mean that is totally out of line even if your an adult.

I LOVE this game. I rented it first and I loved it so much that I bought it. I play it all the time. It does envolve alot of reading but it is still a super fun game. It is worth all the money I spent on it. If you are going to buy a wii game you have to buy this one.
