I bought two of these, one for each bathroom, and the grip on these things is fantastic. You just have to make sure you wet the cups, then press firmly while locking the suction device. I hang my bars horizontally so that, between showers, a rubber mat can be hung over it to dry.

I would not reccomend purchasing this product. It would not adhere to tile walls as advertised. I subsequently had to purchase an alternate brand and it worked fine. The Cosco suction mechanism seemed inferior to other products on the market.It would "lock" in but eventually unlock.
