I went to S***s, but they only had the demo model, so I went over to my local Target & picked one up. I am utterly amazed. On my hardwood floors, it grabs the furballs (more like tumbleweed, in our house) from about 4" away...Much unlike my Kenmore canister vac, which you have to get right on top of the fur to pick it up. I cleaned the whole house, & had enough fur in the container to make another whole cat (or small dog). I can't wait to go home tonight & vacuum the basement! Yes, it's atrociously high-priced, but it gets the job done.

I just purchased this vacuum after our Bissell Healthy Home stopped working within it's first year (the spinning brush bar stopped working after 4 months)
I decided that instead of messing with cheaper vacuums that don't work, I'd invest in a better one. I had a girlfriend of mine recommend that I buy the Dyson Animal (She loves hers for her small family of 1 dog & 3 cats), but I did not do so without a lot of research. I was interested in the original Animal (DC17) & the original Ball (DC24), I was torn between the need for a great pet hair grabber and the maneuverability of the ball. I'm so glad I waited since I found out that Dyson did just this, combine the two vacuums I was pining over and I ecstatically bought the DC25 Animal, I am very happy with this vacuum already! I have berber carpets in my house, and the vacuum did not damage the carpet, but instead cleaned them very well. I also like the mini turbine head, our cat loves to sit on all of our high back overstuffed chairs, it removed all the hair with ease. I'm also a busy housewife with a little one. I can easily scoop her up in one arm and pick up the Dyson in the other. I am very impressed and recommend this vacuum to all !!

just bought this product last night and we love it!!! we have two dogs (husky and a beagle), who shed all over the place. the dc25 just cleaned house, and we love the little features. for example, cleaning the roller brush head was by far the easiest thing to do. just lay the dc25 back, turn a little safety lock and slide out the roller brush to clean and get all the hair off. much better than the old way of yanking and pulling. not to mention that its so much quieter than anything we've had before. GREAT BUY!!!!

I purchased this sweetheart yesterday. I was hesitant to shell out over [price] dollars, but it came with a [price] gift card so it was a better deal than the DC25 All Floors (which is also pricey). I do not have animals in my home, but did buy this model because of the gift card. This one costs more (regular price) because it has an extra attachment....an upholstry brush that has rotating bristles. Other than the extra attachment the 2 vacuums are identical except for the color. I also kinda liked the royal purple over the bright yellow. I was still unsure if I had made a wise decision spending so much. It took me 15 seconds of running this baby, to fall in love with it! It pulled so much out of my carpets that I could not believe what I saw in the canister. We generally do not wear shoes on the carpeting & it still tooks alot of gunk out! Probably all kinds of micro-organisms & dust mites & hair. The whole house even smelled fresher. This vacuum is So EASY to manuver..the ball design is great! I highly recommend this machine! You will not be disappointed!

I have a long-haired dachshund/sheltie mix who is shedding constantly. I bought the DC25 this morning (after my dog's hair destroyed the motor on my Fantom) and tried it out as soon as I came home. It picked up EVERYTHING! When I emptied the dust bin, the ball of hair that came out was almost the size of a football! This vacuum is well worth the price.

Needed a new vacuum for quiet some time & have always wanted a Dyson, but thought they were a little pricey. My Hoover Wind Tunnel II finally expired completely in December of 2008 after 3 years of being extemely and totally dissatisfied with the Hoover. The Dyson DC25 is everything the Hoover wasn't. The Dyson DC25 is designed to be quite efficient, is very high quality with excellent suction, is light weight and provides convenient features & accessories. The ball makes it very easy to maneuver. I'm very pleased with my purchase and wish I had purchased the Dyson long ago. Researched many reviews like this one prior to making such a large purchase. I'm very satisfied with my Dyson purchase.

I had owned 2 Bisell vacuums before; one with bags and most recently the bagless. I have 1 long haired cat and a large dog, both who shed a lot. Needless to say my vacuum with the bag was a pain because I'd go through bags like they were going out of style. My bagless vacuum always got clogged and the darn belt would come off all the time. Both also lost suction after 2 minutes of use and I would get so frustrated when there would still be dog hair everywhere after I'd vacuum.

I've been wanting a Dyson Animal vacuum for so long because of all the dog and cat hair in my house. I also want my carpet to be clean and pet hair free for my 4yr old daughter and newborn son. The price kept me away but after buying one on sale, I love to vacuum again! It works wonderful and I had to empty the container about 5-6 times! It picked up so much animal hair. With my old bagless vacuum I would empty it only once after vacuuming! Even though the price is high you get what you pay for and it's worth every penny. For anyone with animals and kids the Dyson Animal Vacuum is money well spent.

Great, worth every penny. Assembly was not that bad, I was worried after ready other reviews. Two parts snap onto the main body of the dyson. Picks up pet hair like crazy. My carpets look great.

We just got this vacuum after much thought and we're so glad we did! We have 3 cats and controlling fur is difficult. When I finished vacuuming my house I could've submitted what was in the canister to Guinness to be considered for the world's largest hairball!! I also have severe allergy problems (probably due to the cats!) and I swear the air in the house smelled cleaner and fresher. I think this vacuum must be the best on the market and I highly recommend spending the extra dough. The Target gift card was an added incentive too so try to wait for that offer if you can.
