I was not impressed at all with the Dyson Animal. I decided to buy the Dyson because we adopted a dog who sheds alot. I was so excited to finally get all the hair out of the carpet and out of the furniture. Well, that was before I started to vaccuum. I noticed that the suction wasn't that strong and I kept checking the dirt bin to see what was being [...] in. Not much!!!! So I decided to do an experiment. I vaccuumed over the area I vaccummed with the Dyson with my old vaccuum and I was surprised to see all the dirt and hair that was still in my carpet. For a vaccuum to cost that much and have all the hype that the Dyson does, I think it should have done a better job. I wouldn't recommend this vaccuum to anyone.

We have the older version of this product and I loved it at first. But we only had it for three years and the engine went dead- which cost us another [..] to fix it. Then we had the belt go bad which cost us an additional [..] to fix because of who the band fits on. So, now the [..] vacuum cost us [..]. My Hoover brand still works great after 10 years. Trust me at first I loved it this, i even had three of my good friends but it. Now I tell everyone to stay away. Save your money and buy something else that has a reputation for working a long time.

I bought Dyson today after long research. I read so many reviews and most of the people were very happy with it.

I have to say, I am very disappointed. I have a dog and a baby. I wanted strong vacuum to get hair out of the carpet,
because I don't want my baby to have it all over clothes and hands when he is playing on the floor. I have to say, that Dyson left lots of hair behind. I know, no vacuum picks up everything but for the price I expected much more. Plus it is much heavier than I thought and it is hard to use hose to get to smaller places. Also it is pretty loud, nothing like commercial on TV says.

I am going to return it tomorrow and get my money back. I will have to find something better maybe for less money.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because it was a little difficult getting it out of the box. It took 2 of us. Once it was out and was assembled (minimal work), I started vacuuming and was AMAZED at how much cat hair, dirt and dust it was picking up. I emptied it twice and kept getting up cat hair (we have 2 cats). I felt so much better about the cleanliness of our apt. after using it. It lives up to its claim that it does not loose suction, and in the case of this particular model, gets up animal hair that other vacuums do not!

I purchased this vacuum based on my brother-in-laws comments. He has the standup model and said he loved it. My wife and I decided we wanted one but would wait to see if it went on sale or the price dropped. It went on sale, we bought it and we love it. Just a minor flaw, not all the attachments fit onboard that would be nice.

Got the Dyson Animal for Mother's Day this year. I must say I am very impressed. I have laminate wood floors in my living room, that scratches if you stare at them too hard and this glides over them beautifully. Haven't had a scratch yet!It picks up loads in the room with carpet. I vacuumed my sons room two days before I used the Dyson on it and it picked up so much dog hair it grossed me out. The only draw back is that is it bagless. Although great to not have to buy bags, I do have to take it to the big garbage can outside so as not to spread the dust I just cleaned up back into the house. Aside from that I love it, I actually want to vacuum and look for an excuse.

I went to S***s, but they only had the demo model, so I went over to my local Target & picked one up. I am utterly amazed. On my hardwood floors, it grabs the furballs (more like tumbleweed, in our house) from about 4" away...Much unlike my Kenmore canister vac, which you have to get right on top of the fur to pick it up. I cleaned the whole house, & had enough fur in the container to make another whole cat (or small dog). I can't wait to go home tonight & vacuum the basement! Yes, it's atrociously high-priced, but it gets the job done.

I just purchased this vacuum after our Bissell Healthy Home stopped working within it's first year (the spinning brush bar stopped working after 4 months)
I decided that instead of messing with cheaper vacuums that don't work, I'd invest in a better one. I had a girlfriend of mine recommend that I buy the Dyson Animal (She loves hers for her small family of 1 dog & 3 cats), but I did not do so without a lot of research. I was interested in the original Animal (DC17) & the original Ball (DC24), I was torn between the need for a great pet hair grabber and the maneuverability of the ball. I'm so glad I waited since I found out that Dyson did just this, combine the two vacuums I was pining over and I ecstatically bought the DC25 Animal, I am very happy with this vacuum already! I have berber carpets in my house, and the vacuum did not damage the carpet, but instead cleaned them very well. I also like the mini turbine head, our cat loves to sit on all of our high back overstuffed chairs, it removed all the hair with ease. I'm also a busy housewife with a little one. I can easily scoop her up in one arm and pick up the Dyson in the other. I am very impressed and recommend this vacuum to all !!

just bought this product last night and we love it!!! we have two dogs (husky and a beagle), who shed all over the place. the dc25 just cleaned house, and we love the little features. for example, cleaning the roller brush head was by far the easiest thing to do. just lay the dc25 back, turn a little safety lock and slide out the roller brush to clean and get all the hair off. much better than the old way of yanking and pulling. not to mention that its so much quieter than anything we've had before. GREAT BUY!!!!

I purchased this sweetheart yesterday. I was hesitant to shell out over [price] dollars, but it came with a [price] gift card so it was a better deal than the DC25 All Floors (which is also pricey). I do not have animals in my home, but did buy this model because of the gift card. This one costs more (regular price) because it has an extra attachment....an upholstry brush that has rotating bristles. Other than the extra attachment the 2 vacuums are identical except for the color. I also kinda liked the royal purple over the bright yellow. I was still unsure if I had made a wise decision spending so much. It took me 15 seconds of running this baby, to fall in love with it! It pulled so much out of my carpets that I could not believe what I saw in the canister. We generally do not wear shoes on the carpeting & it still tooks alot of gunk out! Probably all kinds of micro-organisms & dust mites & hair. The whole house even smelled fresher. This vacuum is So EASY to manuver..the ball design is great! I highly recommend this machine! You will not be disappointed!
