We purchased one in cherry from another vendor (didn't realize Target carried them or would have gotten it from them). It is a sturdy, well built piece of FURNITURE, much more and much safer than a stool. Our 2 year old grandson, loves it and it is a much safer option than a chair or sitting on the kitchen cabinet. I think we will get YEARS of use out of it and have plans of involving him in the preparation of Christmas dinner (and other meals). Also available is a cover to make it a puppet show stage or tent and a side that will slide on that is a chalk board on one side and a dry erase board on the other. Only complaint is that the feet stick out to the sides and we have all stubbed our toes on them (lol). They are however necessary to create the stability it needs. From the other comment I would have to say, yes if you are talented, you could make one, but most of us do not have the time, tools or abilities to make furniture that is attractive, sturdy and adjustable. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!! and thanks Target for being Target (more Super Targets please!!!)

This product was easy to assemble and looks great! I purchased this for my daughter's 2nd birthday and I wish I would have ordered it 6 months ago. She loves it! She can reach the kitchen counter to "help" with washing the dishes and she can "cook" with Mama like a big girl. We also use it at the dining room table for finger painting and crafts. It is very stable and much safer than standing on a chair. I highly recommend this item!

how can yothey charge u $ for something that you can build yourself?! or something that can be replaced with a chair or stool!!i would never recommend this to anyone! the money was not worth it for a stool!
