Husband's in love

Reviewer:  Love Shopping  (Wilmington,NC,USA)  See all my reviews

I got this for my husband he says the picture looks good. So he like it because it is small. He likes the HD that the camera has. So this is to replace the other camera that he has. If u are looking for a camera this is the one. Especially if my husband like it he is sometimes had to please.

A lot a camera in a Little package!

Reviewer:  V. Snider  (Alabama, USA)  See all my reviews

I received this camera in "pink" for Christmas last year and I am still loving it! Even my 5 year old can make her own movies of her bunny and cats! No joke...it is that easy to use. Goes everywhere and fits in my smallest of handbags. Comes with charger for batteries but if you catch yourself out without it you can pop in two AA and your good to go until you can recharge. All cables needed to use with computer, or player devices are included and like with any other recorder or camera you can add a video card for more capacity for videos or pictures. The sound quaility is one of the best I have ever heard. All my relatives were wishing they had this little wonder instead of their cumbersome video recorders! GET ONE! You too will love it!

Favorite Video Camera!

Reviewer:  Demitri  See all my reviews

This is my third flash memory video recorder and it has become my favorite. I mainly post videos to You Tube and Facebook and for this purpose the Kodak Zi6 is perfect! I like the size of it, the large viewing screen, the simple controls and the AA batteries it uses. I find the quality to be superb. Really, it is!

But be aware that you need a fairly powerful computer to edit and process the raw (MOV) video files that come out of the Zi6. If your computer is more than a year old then you might be frustrated at how choppy the videos play back. And editing could be just about impossible. But this is not the fault of the Zi6, it's just the nature of processing 720p videos. You're crunching a ton of data every second and that requires CPU horsepower.

The Kodak Zi6 is small enough to fit in your pocket though not as small as its competitors. Still, I find it small enough to carry around most days. The battery life seems to be very good and it's nice to know that if I ever catch myself out of battery power I can simply buy some AA batteries and pop them in. But you'll want to use the rechargeables most of the time.

Yes, this is a basic camera. But it does the basics very, very well. And for the money, you just can't do better, in my opinion. What a drastic improvement over the Kodak MC3 from years ago!

So Far So Good...

Reviewer:  Mr. Lucky "D. Diddy"  (Washington, DC, USA)  See all my reviews

I'm still figuring out how to use this little gem, but so far I'm pretty pleased with my purchase. I bought it for those times when I'm out with my family and want to capture special moments, but can't because I don't like lugging a camcorder around with me everywhere I go and the quality of anything I capture on my phone is just not that great. This seemed to be just the thing I needed, as it fits perfectly in my pocket and I can carry with me at all times to get those planned or impromptu special moments. I also love the USB feature which allows me to just plug into the computer and download my pics and video into my files to share later.

I just used it at my daughter’s high school graduation and was very pleased with the fact that it fit in my inner suit pocket and I was able to keep it with me at all times with no fuss and no muss…just turn it on and shoot either video or pictures because it’s so easy to switch between the two. It also offers several modes of HD quality video which is a nice feature to have for varying settings.

There are a couple of negatives you need to know about…1. You ABSOLUTELY must buy a SD memory card to supplement the memory space because without it, the number of pics & video you can take is very limited and the picture quality will be very poor. I recommend purchasing at least a 4GB SD memory card to get more space and better quality, which costs some extra bucks so you should factor it into your total cost. 2. The zoom feature is ok, but it could be a lot better because it doesn't allow you to get as up close and personal as you could with a camcorder or camera with at least 3-4x optical zoom feature. 3. It uses 2 AA rechargeable batteries, which means you have to keep your charger (comes with the unit) handy because the charge doesn't last long if you’re using it for an extended period of time. I wish it had a single Rechargeable Li-Ion battery, which would make it a lot easier to plan usage. 4. It records the video using a Quicktime player format, which isn’t always compatible with software available on most computers…would prefer to have it in WMV format. 5. The software provided to download the content isn’t very easy to navigate, which is a bit of a bummer, but it’s just as easy to move and copy files into “My Document” folders for easy access and sharing.

Overall, I like the unit because it provides me with great flexibility, but I would love to see a second generation with a better zoom feature and a Rechargeable Li-Ion battery. I would have given it a 3 1/2 to 4 stars, but such an option is not available.

WELL WORTH IT!

Reviewer:  Lockylou "Lock"  (Cali)  See all my reviews

A very good pocket video camera, very little internal memory but thats why it has an SD slot! A 4 gig card came in the box with mine. It also had rechargable batteries and a charger, and TV and USB cables. instructions make sense and easy to use. Great video but only 2x zoom. All this was 50.00 off the regular price!

Easy to use!

From box to shooting HD video in about 5 minutes. Very easy set up for the camera. When I got home, my 16 year old had the video playing on our TV with all the appropriate connections in just a couple of minutes. If you want ease of set up and easy use, this is a nice buy.

I just got my Kodak Zi6, it was easy to start my video. I had no problem downloading on the computer, and taking pictures. The pictures came out great, when you put them on the PC. It straightens it out,I just love it because i can carry it anywhere I would like to go. I would recommend this product to all of my friends.

Good, but be aware

Reviewer:  Robert D. Taylor  See all my reviews

It works good, but you need to be aware that the internal memory allows for only 30 seconds of recording. You will have to buy a SD card to get more time. A 2 or 4 gig card will get you 15 to 20 minutes and that adds about [Price]to the cost. Buy the card when you buy the camera or you will be making another trip to the store.

It does contain rechargable batteies and a charger, so that is not a problem.

The instructions are terrible, but you can go online and chat with support and they do a quick and good job.

It does seem to me that you have to get real far away to get a full picture of a person, but that may be the nature of all camcorders.

Need steady hands or tripod

Reviewer:  Bill  (PA)  See all my reviews

Con: when pressing record button to stop recording always shakes camera and can't edit! (maybe they should have added steady shot)!
Con: 2x zoom not enough since camcorders usally has 32x like Sony Dvd Camcorder which has better picture then HD

Pro: on tripod makes video with better quailty & zooming is also better!
Pro or Con uses AA batteries so be prepared to buy large quanities because in HD60 uses a lot of power then buy rechargeable & charger = $$$$$
