This is a nice TV, but it's a shame to put these speakers in this nice a product. The sound is very thin, heavy on the treble with very little bass. With 12 watts you would think it would have a decent sound. This set has a very good picture, and good over all features. If you buy this set be prepared to add a sound system.

This is the first flat screen I have purchased and so far I am fairly impressed with this TV. The picture quality is excellent, especially with DVDs and video games. The controller is simple and easy to use and the menus are very user friendly. However, despite having a very good built in surround sound effect, the overall sound is quite weak and it might take some time getting used to unless you are planning on hooking it up to a surround sound system. But overall this is a perfect TV for a bedroom or game room for a nice price!!

I must say, that this is the best all-around television I've ever purchased.
Fantastic Picture, and the sound is fine to me, contrary to what others have posted.
I've only owned it for a week now, so we'll see how it holds up!

The quality of the picture, even over component is fantastic. The TV is easy to set up, the sound is pretty good, and the three HDMI ports are a plus.
However, the remote on this unit is awful. Pretty much the worst remote I have ever seen on a TV in any price range. It has about 20 buttons total.
The Target site states it has Picture-in-picture. Unless I am nuts it is not available on this TV. So if you expect that option to be available do not buy this product.
Finally, the case is not a Java color. It is a very dark brown, but at first glance it appears to be black. There is a gold trim piece on the bottom, the length of the TV. I am not a big fan of the trim.
Overall, the TV function very well and has great picture quality for a 32 inch TV. The lack of PIP and terrible remote is frustrating though.

don't listen to a few of these other members griping about sound quality.. if it sounds like a speakerphone.. either you have a really good speaker on your phone or you got a defective TV.. now if you had a brain, you would realize just by looking at the TV that the sound quality isn't going to have a full range.. but for me, with this TV in my bedroom.. i won't turn the volume past 30 before i think it's too loud for my roomates.. and that's not even halfway..
to get the full sound quality you want.. hook it up to your sound system.. i recommend it.. it's a no-brainer for ANY tv.. i still dont' get why this TV was sold for so low of a price.. i truly recommend it..

After 1 year & 1 month the screen had black line and if I didn't buy extended warranty Vizio didn't care! Even with the extra warranty I bought direct from Vizio it took 2 months of excuses from them to finally made settlement! (Maybe because I was going to file civil complaint got there attention)!
So I agree with other review terrible sound & had to by surround sound system to connect to digital TV output.
They probably won't print this review because I suggest the Samsung HDTV = great sound & fantastic picture for less money (the check from Vizio bought a 32" Samsung and 100 bucks for pleasure!

I read the reviews before getting my own Vizio 32" on Friday night (2/27/09). Let me start by saying I have nothing against the visual, and the price for what it is, of course, is great. However, the television's internal sound quality is very, very poor. Everyone sounds like they're on speakerphone.
The best bet for anyone wanting better sound would be to connect this television to their current sound system or to purchase one. Trust me, you'll be glad you did. Fortunately, I already had my Aiwa stereo system, so I'm good now. The fact I had to turn this television's speakers off in favor of the Aiwa's is the only reason I give this product 4 stars instead of 5.
