I have assembled many furniture peices in my lifetime, and this was by far one my largest dissapointments. The wood appears to be sturdy and firm, but really it is not. When assembling screws into the wood...the screws kept turning and did not hold the bottom piece of wood to the side peices whatsoever (and this is an important consideration when you are putting a [Price] item on the top of it). When the back cardboard piece was put on, I lined the screw holes up and the screws went through the inside top surface of the shelves and completely damaged the wood on the other side. Also, the doors rub tremendously when you open and close them. This peice has the potential to be very sturdy, but was poorly designed as far as the tools holding this item together. Since other people gave this item good reviews, maybe I was just delivered a defective piece...I hope other people have more luck with this piece than myself. When all is said and done, it is a very nice looking piece of furnature (aside from the damages from the nails). I do not like writing bad reviews for things..and I do not consider myself hard to please, but I would not recommend this item to others.

This TV stand was easy to put together; all the pieces were included. I like the look of the stand. It arrived in a timely manner. I like the doors and the shelves. It is sturdy enough to hold a 40inch flat screen. It was a great deal because I got 15% off and free shipping. I had been shopping for quite some time and am happy with this purchase.

First good thing was the special care I had from UPS as far as the delivery. UPS called me when they arrived at my apartment complex, UPS driver called meet me at my apartment and took the package up the upstairs for me.

My dad and I put the TV stand togther in about 2 hours. Every peice and part was there. Went together without a hitch and looks absoultely gorgeous sitting in my living room, I would certainly recommend ordering other furniture from shabby chic!! I'm very happy with it!

The piece is very nice looking. The legs did not stay on and the doors were very hard to align. The quality of the material is just O.K.

I have a huge TV set and this provides the stability I need to hold it. My previous stand was too small and not sturdy enough. It holds lots of DVD's, cable box, DVD player and VCR. It really looks great in my living room.

Although this is listed as a Chic TV Stand I'm using it in my craft/scrapbook room. It's a nice looking cabinet and very useful for storing my supplies and giving me additional workspace. Little difficult to put together alone, but if you have help it's easy. Definitely worth the price and a nice addition to any room.

I ordered this stand online. It seemed to be exactly what I was looking for. When it arrived I carefully unpacked all parts. Packaging was good and protected item well but there were NO DIRECTIONS INCLUDED! Now I have the pieces sitting in my living room (very heavy) and no clue how it should be assembled. Called Target and they can't seem to get an answer from the Vietnamese manufacturer.

After looking at a lot of TV stands, this one was a great value and great quality (wood vs metal and plastic for less c'mon). It took about an hour to assemble with an extra set of hands helping at times. It is VERY sturdy, pretty heavy and solid. Looks wonderful and holds my 42" TV perfectly (wouldn't recommend it for anything bigger though--my TV is the exact length of the stand).

First off, let me say that I love the Simply Shabby Chic line. Some of the furniture items are really great. This, however, is not one of them. This was absolutely awful to put together. The directions are not in order, though they are printed with numbers as being in order. Due to this error, I couldn't get the shelf in, and had to unscrew half of what I'd put together to get it in. That led the wood to split where some of the screws are, and so it's not as sturdy as it could be. The doors don't line up right, and scrape the bottom shelf when opening and closing. The shelf height is wrong for dvds - you have to store them on their side instead of the normal way in order for them to fit. There were almost no pre-drilled holes, so I'd recommend using a a cordless drill for this project. Overall, it doesn't look nearly as nice as my other SSC pieces. This was a real disappointment. I should have taken it apart and taken it back to Target for a refund. At least it was 15% off plus free s&h - I'd be really mad if I had paid full price.
