We used cornmeal, baking soda or lentils instead of sand because my little one still likes to "taste" everything and it encourages him to think feel the different textures. This table rocks! It keeps him occupied for an hour. The train is great! The extra toys are great!

My Daugher lovesss this however NO SAND IS INCLUDED... The description makes no note of it being sold separately and I had no idea where to buy sand at. Target doesnt sell it so we have been using it for water on both sides. I emailed Step2 and they have forwarded my concern to the graphics dept to make a note on the box (supposedly), but once you get passed that, its a great toy and I got it for [Price]!!! What a deal!

My 2 yr old granddaughter loves this sandbox. I use both sides for sand and she loves to stand and play. I like the bright primary colors because I can teach her the colors without it seeming to be work. She loves the little "wagons" and plays with them outside of the sandbox also. Now my 8 month granddaughter can stand and loves to play in the sand also. The cover is great and I use it to keep the sand clean during the days when she is not here.

We were very happy with this purchase. The little accessories are fun - love the two boats. My 15 month old can reach high enough to pour the sand/water into the three towers. We've played with all sand and all water. Both made for a good time.
