I was able to make the yogurt in less than 8 hours. I used 1/2 gallon of whole milk and heated it twice in the micro wave on high for 10 minutes. Once the milk cooled to room temperature I added a store bought cup of unfavored yogurt with live cultures (Brown Cow) and mixed it with the milk. I place the mixture in the maker and in 8 hours I had 8 containers. Cost was less than 1/4 the price if I had bought the yogurt. You will pay off the cost of the maker in 3 to 5 batches.

Many years ago I became lactose intolerant. I stopped eating yogurt as well as cheese and milk.
I purchased the euro cuisine YM100 hoping to eat yogurt again.I don't like the store bought kind.
When I received the maker I decided to use Lactose free milk. While the plain yogurt I used was not lactose free. 6 ounces
divided by 7 - 6 ounce jars equals a lot less lactose. I love my yogurt maker. Machine works very well. Cleans easy.

I love this. I had a very old yogurt maker...25 years old...that finally died. This one is even better than "old faithful". Nothing like fresh creamy and tart yogurt!
