Only a day, but has the best reception by far. May 25, 2009 Reviewer:  bucknut81 "BN" (Winston Salem)  See all my reviews >

I initially tried a 2.4ghz pan/tilt camera with a 2.5 screen from Wally World that looked promising, until I turned it on. You know the static you get from standard audio baby monitors? Well that one came through the video as well, and that was from 5 ft away. So that went back. I had seen a friends mobicam and the reception was horrible too. So I decided to pony up and get this one after reading the reviews. If this didn't work I was just going to get a 6.0 dect audio monitor. Well so far this thing is AWESOME. And yes, times are changing when I refer to a baby monitor as awesome.

Pros:
-RECEPTION - I have perfect reception everywhere in my house, 1800 sf with a basement and .5 acre lot. I can go to my mailbox, the garden, the garage, anywhere and I have a clear signal. I really like the signal meter in the upper left corner of the screen, but my always shows 5/6 bars.
-Pan/Tilt/ZOOM - I think that this will become a very useful feature as our child grows older. Right now it's unneccesary, but when the have the ability to move around I think that this is a big bonus over others.
-Wall Mount - Also, something for later, but it can be mounted on a wall which can keep it out of reach of little hands, yet still have the ability to pan and tilt to see the whole room.
-RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES INCLUDED - unlike other monitors, it comes with the batteries and will charge them while still in the monitor. I don't know the battery life yet, but as most I'm sure with video it isn't that good. I would suggest getting some larger (2600mah) AA to get some more life.
-AUDIO - The audio and video are separate. Meaning you can hit the video off button on top at night so it doesn't light your whole room up at night, but still give you the audio of your baby to monitor. Another feature on it is a sound led alert. It has green/yellow/red led's that depending on how loud the sound was gives you a visual display of the noise level. Some have found this annoy at night and I haven't had to deal with it yet, but if it's a problem, then the electrical tape again!

CONS:
-IMAGE QUALITY - Compared to the other camera I tried, the image quality is a little grainier on this camera. Not a huge deal though as you can still see everything well. Might be more annoying if you're watching on a larger screen (tho, no av out on the hand held receiver).
-LED - This is a stupid design, they put a bright GREEN LED on the front of the CAMERA, yes, the thing that will be in a dark room with a sleeping baby. I don't know if this is to provide a little extra light for night time or what, but I will be placing a piece of electrical tape on it in short order. Why they didn't employ IR on it i'm not sure.
-VOLUME CONTROL- There is no dedicated volume/brightness controls. You have to first hit the menu button and then left right to control the volume. Not the biggest deal, but maybe for others.

All in all it is the best video monitor on the market. It is advertised as a secure digital system, but to clue you in, it runs on 2.4ghz frequency. I was unsure of this until reading the box. So far so good, everything works GREAT and interfiers with nothing. We run several wireless notebooks, printer, Bluetooth phone system, Dect 6.0 phones, Wii and nothing has faded it. GREAT!!!!

Best Monitor Out There! January 30, 2009 Reviewer:  Dr. Mom (Birmingham, MI)  See all my reviews >

Yes, this is pricey but worth every penny. It works - plain and simple. I previously had the other Digital Deluxe Video iMonitor Baby Monitor which is only less, but worked terribly - static, dropped signals, loose connection of the camera, poor picture, tiny picture, video delay, router interference, and short battery life on the remote unit. I have a wireless router in the house - no interference at all, unlike with other models.
The remote unit has a convenient stand and a belt clip. The remote operation of the camera unit works great - I would estimate that the camera moves approximately 300 degrees side to side and 60 degrees up and down. I can pan around the entire room without any difficulty. I put my camera on top of the window valence to see the whole room. It also has a 2x zoom that works very well. Great, clear, big screen.
Really an amazing product that works flawlessly. As they say, you get what you pay for and, even though you will spend more, you won't lose money going through several before this one. Happy spying!!
BTW, I found this one in the Target store for [price] less than at Target online.

Great quality! May 3, 2009 Reviewer:  LuvBeingMom See all my reviews >

We purchased our monitor from Target about 2 months ago and have been very pleased with it. I love how you can zoom in and see the baby breathing and the quality of the picture both day and night is very good. I often pull the shades during the day, so the night vision kicks on then, but it is still very clear. Not fuzzy like other monitors I've seen. No interference with our wireless phones or WI-FI. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because of the battery life, very short, although you can turn the picture off so I'm experimenting to see if that helps. Also, I wish the cord was a lot longer. I don't feel comfortable plugging it into an extension cord and with only 2 outlets in the room (older home), I have limited options as to where I can put it.
But other than that, I really love it and would high recommend it to anyone! :)

Disappointed May 1, 2009 Reviewer:  Furious (ME)  See all my reviews >

I was expecting in March, bought my baby monitor in Feb. i checked it out for a trial wk before i was due to make sure it would work properly when i brought my baby home..it worked for one wk..mind you, i payed 200.00 for this product.. I really wanted this item and returned it back to Target, after a hard time w the sales associates on returning the item..i purchased another monitor, same one, in hopes it would work because i loved all the features it has to offer..one month, thats it, it stopped working, i am very discouraged, i like to be able to monitor my new baby, especially since he chokes alot, and the morning i woke up to see the monitor not working, my baby was choking on his vomit and thankfully something woke me to check him. I will not be purchasing another monitor like this, in my case it didnt help me.

Not worth the money! April 13, 2009 Reviewer:  New mom See all my reviews >

I purchased this monitor after reading all of the positive reviews; however, this monitor only worked well for the first 2 months. The picture shows this monitor is in color but is NOT and the video was defective. It began turning pitch black for no apparent reason and then would go back to normal, which was very frustrating. The picture is fuzzy and unclear, the only feature that I liked was the option to zoom and the fact that you can pan around the room. I will be returning this monitor as it was a waste of my money and did not meet my expectations.

FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR NEWBORN, DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT August 4, 2009 Reviewer:  mom of angels See all my reviews >

Researched video monitors extensively before purchasing for newborn. Wanted top of the line monitor. Decided this was the monitor for us. Love all the features; zoom, initial picture quality, etc... Began to use monitor once baby was in her own room sleeping several hours at a time now. The first few nights of use I woke up after what seemed an unusual long period of sleep, looked at the monitor (appears baby is sleeping peacefully, sounds quiet, good picture quality) But it seems like I heard her crying in the distance. Her room is on opposite side of house. Of course, like many moms of newborns, I just had to go check on her. I did find her screaming. Brought her back to my room only to see that she still appears on the monitor in her crib.....strange. Thought maybe there was some strange interference from our wireless internet. Decided to give it another try. I was skeptical of trusting the monitor so when I did use it I would frequently jump up out of bed to check it out, check on baby. Not sleeping well myself. It happened several more times. The picture and sound on monitor freeze. Finally returned product today. Will not purchase summer product again. Btw, bought Mobicam 2 yrs ago (older technology). Have never had a single issue with that monitor. Leave it on often 24 hrs a day. Have used it every day the past 2 years.

EXCELLENT PRODUCT!!! LOVE IT! BEST OUT THERE! March 22, 2009 Reviewer:  M. Shearer Real Name (Montana)  See all my reviews >

I think this is the best monitor out there. You can actually have up to 4 cameras to switch back and forth from with this handheld device. I am still trying to find out where I can get the additional camera. I actually scanned the entire room and zoomed in. Parents this is worth it. Also Target has the best price!

I also want to let parents know you can see your baby at night clear as a bell. PLUS there is no lights being shined on your baby. My baby's room is DARK and I can see inside her crib clear as day! Definit plus!!!!

Wow! This is amazing February 2, 2009 Reviewer:  S & T's momma "S & T's momma" (CA)  See all my reviews >

I tried another monitor before this one and was a bit disappointed, but this monitor is awesome. Not only is it great to see your child in color, but to be able to zoom in and pan around the room is just wonderful. I have had no problems with static as of yet, either. I have an active toddler and after mounting this unit on his bedroom wall, I can see the whole room from left to right, top to bottom. I can even see directly below the camera. The zoom feature is also a huge plus, because not only can I see directly into his crib at night, but I can also see what he may have in his hands when playing. The night vision is really good, too. It's pretty high quality black and white, and even though it's not as clear as when the room is lit up, it's clear enough to make you feel at ease when checking on your child. For the price, this is the best monitor, and it's way cheaper here at Target than other baby stores.

Awesome when it works June 29, 2009 Reviewer:  Georgia Mom 2 Be (Savannah Area)  See all my reviews >

We received this monitor as a very generous gift. Our child is only 7 weeks old and the video feature no longer works. Luckily we are still able to get sound because we noticed this problem right at bedtime. But for something to cost so much money and offered a certain type of feature and that feature no longer works, that is pretty sorry. Not to mention that we have been limited on the number of usages on this monitor. We only started using it every night for the past week and a half, before that only here and there on occasion. I would love to be able to look at my baby instead of the Summer logo on the screen. As stated in the title: it is a great monitor, when it works the way it should.

Pretty good, but... April 21, 2009 Reviewer:  Trey Spaw Real Name (Austin, TX)  See all my reviews >

Up to task in most respects. Great range, doesn't interfere with other wireless devices on same frequency, small. Terrible battery life, however. Ships w/3 AA rechargeables (only 2000 mAh).
