I read the reviews and thought it seemed like a good product, but this vacuum wouldn't even pick up sock lint on my carpet while at the highest suction setting! I am very disappointed, especially since it cost so much money! I am returning this item.

I just purchased this vacuum cleaner a few days ago, so I haven't owned it long enough to rate it 5 stars. I purchased a Dyson when we purchased our new home 2 years ago. I decided to buy this after my 9 month old grand daughter whom lives here developed allergies. There's also a lab in the house. I vacuumed with my Dyson and used my steam cleaner in our family room (everytime I have to go around picking up blobs of wet dog hair that my steamer pulls out of the carpeting). After bringing the Hoover home I conducted an experiment. I took the Dyson and vacuumed our bedroom for 30 minutes emptying the canister three times. I vacuumed until there was little to empty. I then steam cleaned the carpet. Once again I had to go around and pick up blobs of wet dog hair my steamer pulled from deep within my carpeting (YUCK). I thought my steamer was spitting out old dog hair that I missed during the cleaning but that much. So this time I made sure my steamer was clean with no left over dog hair trapped anywhere. I then took the Hoover and went into another room where the dog likes to hang out. I did the same thing vacuumed and emptied the cansiter until there was nothing left to empty, this took only 15 minutes. Then I steamed cleaned that carpeting. Guess what no blobs of dog hair !

I read the reviews before purchasing this product and I like the comment about watch out Dyson there is a new kid on the block! How true! This vacuum cleaner is heavier than the Dyson, and after vacuuming it makes my carpeting more fluffy to walk on like it was when it was new. so I guess after reading my review I would rate this a definite 5 plus!

I've been a Windtunnel user for many years now. I've compared it to Dyson and Oreck, and Hoover has picked up more than both. I have been waiting for Hoover to introduce a Windtunnel that did not lose suction. The Platinum bagless upright surprisingly picked up a decent amount of fine dirt that my previous Windtunnel left behind. You can feel the power from this vacuum and it does not lose suction. The electronic height adjustment is a very high-end feature that I am excited to have. It makes it very easy to go from room to room and to and from area rugs and bare floors. The brush roll shuts the vacuum down if something is lodged in its path - a nice new feature. The bin is easy to empty, but tricky to close. Too bad a self-propelled model is not available, but it is not very difficult to push. It is a phenomenal vacuum for cleaning carpets and bare floors. However, above floor cleaning leaves a lot to be desired. Although the wand/hose is very accessible, the hose is very short and a hose extension is not available. The brush/upholstery tool is very small – it looks like something on a [..] vacuum. Hoover did not include a powered hand tool or additional extension wands, like on their previous machines. I don’t know why Hoover would include less attachment on their new top-of-the-line machine. Aside from the hose and attachments, it is an outstanding machine. I give this vacuum 5 stars for cleaning ability, but 4 overall because of the shortcomings with above floor cleaning.

In a house with three cats, a hairy dog and lots of girls, a vacuum that ACTUALLY gets all of the hair is a blessing. This one picks up everything from edge to edge without spraying small bits of dirt out the back. I used to have to use my hand tools to get along the edge of the woodwork...not with this. It's light and easy to carry from one floor to the other. I've been able to clean around the litter box and it really picks up the sand that is tracked out of the box onto the floor. A GREAT vacuum. Since I can't afford a bigger house, I'll take my new vacuum and make my little house REALLY clean!

I've been shopping around and comparing reviews and ended up buying this today...brought it home and used it immediately I could't believe all the power it had..I was really impressed! The power cord is long and I can move from room to room and adjust the height with one touch in the handle... after buying cheap vacuums almost every yr. (which I won't do ever again)I'm glad I got this and it has a 6 yr warranty and certainly is worth the price!!!

So, I've always been into Hoover. When I went shopping for a vaccuum, I knew it had to be Hoover. When I saw this vac, I liked it. Looks nice. It was one of the most expensive ones...but we do get what we pay for. Needless to say, I bought it. Took it home. Got it out of the box (Practically no assembly required. Just 2 little screws.) I plugged it in and began to vaccuum. I totally fell in love with it! It works soooo good. Really picks up the dirt. And the biggest plus...NO BAGS TO BUY! Way to go, Hoover!

Ok so i'm picky. I have to try the suction out on a vacuum before I commit to it. I tried the Dyson the suction was ok. The hose was about a inch around the hose opening on this vacuum is 1 1/2. It seems alot larger and the suction is very very strong. Find a discount and it's worth it! I'm keeping mine.

We've had it for 5 months and still love it! Assembly is a piece of cake, Suction is Awesome, Controls are sweet as in just a push of a button will raise or lower the brushes for different carpet levels and the canister is a snap to empty! The best designed vacuum out there in my opion, and we have gone through plenty of vacuums. We have a huskey and a cat in our house, and I had to vacuum every day with our old vacuum. It seemed like I was keeping up with the hair, (not the case.) I could not believe the dirt and hair that the hoover picked up right after I vaccumed with our old one, amazing! And it leaves the carpet fluffy and looking like new, even the most expensive dyson can't keep up with this one. It also has a 6 year warrenty, well worth the money!!!!!!!! Way to go HOOVER, finally there is a vacuum on the market that you can buy with confidence.
