Wanted an SLR, found my compromise! May 24, 2009 Reviewer:  Abby loves MOM "Joanie J" (Culpeper, VA)  See all my reviews >

I dreamed of an SLR for a long time, but someone reminded me how cumbersome and heavy they can be, nevermind the cost. I am an amature photographer, but I like to be artistic. This camera has all the bells and whistles. It can be completely automatic, or completely manual.
I had three criteria for the camera. 10MP, at least 10X zoom, and it had to take the picture when I push the button, not focusing for a full 5-10 seconds like the camera I had before.
This camera meets all the requirments and then some. I was pleasantly surprised that I could crop the photos on the camera. I could crop before I take the picture!
I have had fun playing with the different functions.
If you are looking for a great point and shoot at a reasonable price, this is the camera. It is compact, and has fantastic Macro zoom capabilities. LOVE IT!

FUJIFILM SD1500 Digital Camera May 25, 2009 Reviewer:  Susan "Susan" (Virginia)  See all my reviews >

Great camera! Lot's of great features. Why did I only give it a 4? That is actually for Target's website information. I bought this camera because it said I could use my XD memory cards that I already own. However, maybe Target.com needs to do their research when adding information to thier site. This camera only uses the SD or SDHC cards. I will keep the camera, because I wanted all of its features, but am not happy that I need to purchase different memory cards. Please Target, in the future, do your homework. It clearly states in the Owner's Manual that you CANNOT use the XD memory cards.

Wonderful quality pictures, stabilizes images immediately! June 20, 2009 Reviewer:  Camera critic See all my reviews >

The moment I saw this camera on sale I went and bought and I have had 0 problems with it. It has so much customizability options. It is an especially great camera for someone who wants to take close-up photography or panoramic view images. It is the only camera that I have seen to have both Macro and Super Macro close-up options. The pictures are absolutely vivid and true colors. It is incomparable to both of my previous cameras. It works much better. It uses 4 AA batteries but that is okay because it takes hundreds of pictures before running out of charge. Bottom line is that it is an absolutely wonderful camera.

Nice Camera for the price! September 3, 2009 Reviewer:  Yonatan (New Jersey)  See all my reviews >

As a professional I can offer this review as follows:
Don't expect this to be a DSLR, there is a b-i-g difference. In dynamic range (ability to show bright (highlights) and dark (shadows) in a picture, noise (the grainy looking stuff when you enlarge the image), and the ability to manually focus (which is lacking in most inexpensive point and shoot cameras, including this one).
For the price, this camera does very nicely. Noise is well controlled even at 400 ISO. After that, expect to see more and more noise. Dynamic range is OK for this type of camera. I like the small size, comfortable feel, relative staying power of the AA batteries, the zoom is fairly smooth, not as flaky as some others in its price range. It has a lot of features.

Don't think you are going to great photos of birds in trees. Without manual focus, its almost impossible, unless you get lucky. But again, for the bucks, you get what you pay for.

What I really like is the EVF, viewing the image through an eyepiece. It has two big advantages over the rear LCD screen. First, it blocks out all other light and lets you focus solely on the image. Secondly, in bright light, there is no problem seeing the image you are about to shoot. Something that cannot be said using the LCD panel. Drawback? Try taking a picture in very dim light, like a cave or at night with no street lights. It is going to be very hard, no matter which way you handle it. Only a DSLR will work here. I would have purchased the Nikon L100 if it had an EVF viewfinder. Get out there on the beach and you'll see what I mean.

For a compact 12x zoom, this is a bargain. If you want to really have great pictures at a low price, step up to something like the Pentax K2000 DSLR.

An Awesome Camera! August 16, 2009 Reviewer:  Nunya "NunyaBeezwax" (Texas)  See all my reviews >

This camera has been my first SLR~like experience and I have taken over 20,000 pictures since I became a proud owner. I shoot everyday and have been very pleased with this purchase. I have become a professional portrait photographer thanks to the fun that I have endured while using this camera. I hope to upgrade to an SLR soon, but I highly recommend this camera for any beginner/novice user. There is a lot more to this camera than you would think. I am still learning new features regularly. It may take some time to get familiar with it all, because there are many options...or you can just use Auto. lol.

Color and black and white? October 31, 2009 Reviewer:  Dana (NC)  See all my reviews >

I haven't purchased this camera yet but I was wondering if you can change picutes from color to black and white or sepia? It doesn't specify.

Fantastic Deal October 28, 2009 Reviewer:  Grandma Betty (Warrenton, Missouri)  See all my reviews >

I've used a 35mm for years with a super zoom on it. This is my first digital camera. It really has a lot on it and a lot of zoom for the price. It has many great features that are fun to use. I've gotten some great close-ups that look like scientific magazine shots.
I will admit that I still have some learning to do to use all of the features, but I shall learn them. It's a fun camera, and not as heavy as I thought it might be to carry.
Since I carry a large purse, I can lay it on top of the things in my purse. I'm a 63-year-old granny. If I can learn to use it, so can you.

Need information...FAST for novice photographer! November 3, 2009 Reviewer:  Novice Mom (Kansas)  See all my reviews >

Have not bought the camera but am needing to know if anyone knows how well it takes action/motion still pics. Have a camera now that is not great with them and I am needing to upgrade -- just don't want to spend this kind of money on one that will produce blurry images from moving kids!
