Better than I expected... May 7, 2009 Reviewer:  Dan in Denver See all my reviews >

Just got this today, but I have put it through its paces and it works fine. A good choice for taping from a cable box. Great value for the price.

VCR? August 15, 2009 Reviewer:  be2ween (Studio City, CA)  See all my reviews >

The vcr went south after about a half hour of viewing. The tracking was horrible and never righted itself, even though we tried multiple videos. This one's headed back to Target.

Okay for the money May 13, 2009 Reviewer:  joanie See all my reviews >

I have two vcrs. If I play a vcr tape that was recorded on my Toshiba VCR, and play it in the Phillips VCR the picture is jumpy, even when I play with the tracking. It takes some time to adjust on its own. My way of thinking, for the money, what else can you expect. The DVD plays good and the vcr tapes I record from this unit, plays okay.

Horrible quality May 1, 2009 Reviewer:  Boston Mom See all my reviews >

I bought this unit and couldn't even watch a VHS tape after 15 minutes. The picture could not be manually adjusted with tracking so all you get is a loud and rolling screen. It is very temperamental. I can be watching a DVD and then the unit switches to VCR. Once at VCR, it was impossible to switch it back to DVD. After turning it off, I tried it the next day and I was able to switch to the DVD. It is going back to the store today.

Very Disappointing June 10, 2009 Reviewer:  Alf734 (Delaware)  See all my reviews >

This was terrible. I got it because I liked the VCR/DVD combo and I thought it would be ok since it was a Philips. But when I finally got it hooked up to my TV and put in a DVD the motor was so loud it sounded like a vacuum cleaner. I had to turn the volume up really loud just to hear the movie over the motor. I took it back today and got a different one.

DVD Player stopped working after 15 DVD's May 29, 2009 Reviewer:  Jena Brazda "Disney Dreamer" Real Name (Rohnert Park, Ca)  See all my reviews >

I have never been so disappointed with Philips before. I got this in Dec for Christmas after using the DVD a total of 15 with new DVD's it now makes a clicking noise and freezes. I wrote Philips and they wrote back telling me to unplug the unit for 30 seconds and because it is out of there hands now (after 90 days) they wash there hands of this apparent defective unit that clearly has a motor issue. I would tell anyone who is purchasing this item, that if you end up buying it make sure you have an iron clad warranty, but honestly I would not waste my money on it.

Don't Buy!! November 3, 2009 Reviewer:  lilmamaof5 (MN)  See all my reviews >

We had this for less than one week when the VCR quit working. It didn't always do what it was supposed to, either.
