I was very excited to see this at Target. I considered buying one of the 70s era sets for my 2 year old, but the old set has choking hazards and if you can find one in good condition with all the pieces it can be quite expensive. The details on the new set are very nice: it has several built-in features like a cash register in Hopper's store that rings when you press on it, a TV set that changes channels, a toy box that opens. But it does not have the chalkboard or pencil storage as described.
I was also disappointed that it is all Elmo's house inside- Elmo's bedroom, living room, kitchen, and then Hooper's store next door. When did Elmo move in and take over everything? No one else lives on Sesame street anymore. I also wish the set came with more figures and furniture for [...] or at least the option of more pieces that you can add to it later. But I have to say that my little 2 year old does love this play set, and enjoys opening and closing the doors and putting Elmo in and out. Overall I think it was worth buying, but please Fisher Price make some more things to go with the play set, I promise I will buy them all!

I bought this at my local Target store for my 18 month old son and my 4 year old daughter. To my surprise the are actually able to play with it together without fighting!!!!

Yes there are more figures available, right next to the playset on the shelf at my local target store . . . check yours. There is a school bus with Super Grover and Elmo. There are two figure packs as follows: Super Grover and Oscar in his can, Elmo and Ernie, Elmo and Cookie Monster, and Elmo and Big Bird. My only question . . . why no BERT???

Also the fisher-price online store carries a few other playsets with compatible figures including one with Abby Cadabby. Also at Target and fisher-price, very cute diecast cars with Sesame Street figures (non-removable) including the Count.

Before I saw this SS playhouse came out and was exclusive to Target; I was shopping around on Ebay for the original one from when I was a kid. I'm 38 now but I too had this toy growing up and remember how much I loved and played with it everyday! Now I have 2 boys of my own and they are obsessed with SS so you can imagine how excited I was to find this while perusing the Target toy aisle. I think I did a little dance!!

Ok so it's not like the original play house but it still loads of fun for my boys...my only complaint: It comes with just 2 SS figurines (Elmo and Big Bird)...for 40 bucks you think they couldve included even just one more figurine to play with. I searched and searched the aisle looking for "additional sold separately" figurines but much to my disappointment, there were none and so far none online either! My kids want to play with more than just Elmo and Big Bird. Let's hope that in honor if their 40th anniversary, they do the right thing and put out ALL the characters for this play house. Maybe some cool accessories for the house or swings and slides for outside, just a thought. Overall adorable, just wish it came with more. There's no "sold separately" items mentioned on the box which makes me fear there's nothing more to come. More figurines needed for sure!!

I purchased this house for my son who is 27 months old and a Sesame Street FANATIC. I was so excited to see it in the store because both my husband and myself had the original Sesame Street house when we were kids and both grandmothers saved it. My son loves play with the original houses during visits so I was sure this would be a big hit. My son definitely likes this house but it only comes with 1 bed - no other furniture. I feel the price is too high. We already owned all the figures but if someone had to buy all the figures on top of buying the house this would be VERY expensive. Also, the description mentions that the sidewalk pulls out and you can draw on it. This is not the case. The sidewalk does not pull out and there is no place for drawing. I expect my son will be bored with this in just a few weeks and I will be wishing I put my money elsewhere.
