When I first saw the commercial for this I was pretty down on it, thinking that it would dumb kids down. I was also worried that it would make plain old fashion books seem boring in comparison. Anyway, my four year old daughter's grandmother bought her the pink tag and I have been pleasantly surprised. My daughter loves to listen to the stories and hear all of the funny/cool sounds over and over again. The games ask questions about the story helping with reading comprehension. She takes it to bed with her at night and it's a good way for her to wind down and read a book all by herself before she can actually read, and contrary to my belief about it replacing regular books it hasn't. No toy replaces her wanting to snuggle up with mommy for a good "old fashion" reading of one of her favorite story books. Also, you can actually read the tag books as regular books if you really wanted to. One more thing, if you add books to your tag collection little by little you can really extend the novelty of this toy.
