I gave this game as a gift to my niece. I was watching her for the weekend and thought it would be a great thing to do together. She was able to figure it out and spent about an hour each day on the game. She listened to the tutor read stories and then was very engaged in all the activities. She especially liked the word jumbles and using the recording feature. She kept reading and recording herself reading aloud over and over.

We got My Virtual Reader for my son who is not a fan of books but loves his DS. The wonderful thing about the product is his attention span with My Virtual Tutor is much greater than paper-based books. Now, he actually enjoys reading! He plays with the game with the same enthusiasm as he would his regular video games. Except now, my husband and I have the pleasure of knowing that he's learning valuable skills while have a great time. We liked My Virtual Tutor so much that we got versions for our older daughter too! And plan to give them out as Christmas presents to our nieces and nephews. This toy is comforting for parents who don't want their children wasting time playing video games. If your kids dislike reading books the old fashion way, this is a great way to get them reading in a fun and interactive way.
