This Grill Is Better Than You Think, June 3, 2009 I had one of these about 35 years ago and loved it and have been looking for a replacement for a long time.
1. It's cast iron. This means that you have to let it heat up a little longer but also means it will retain the heat and transfer it to food better, just like good cast iron pots.
2. It's economical in its use of fuel. The hibachi was invented in Asia where fuel was hard to come by and they needed something to cook with that used as little fuel as possible.
Although it says pre-seasoned, I would still give the grills a good scrub in hot, soapy water and dry well, then season with vegetable shortening in the oven following directions that are given on many cooking sites. Ater that, just clean with hot water and dry well.
