First bad, then good, March 14, 2009 After I got it home I quickly noticed a horrible taste to the water, a sort of plasticky taste. I used up half a bottle of water thinking it might go away. I made orange juice and it didn't cover up the taste. Finally I ran dilute bleach water through twice, letting it sit for hours at a time and rinsing plenty afterwards. Also scrubbed the "probe" part and ran it through the dishwasher. Now the bad taste is gone and I'm ecstatic! Didn't want the hot water at first but it's nice for green tea (~180 degrees). I'm glad it turned out for the best.
