Great as nightstands as well, October 26, 2007 I first bought the writing desk, which I love. I am really pleased with it. Then I bought two Georgetown end tables for nightstands. They were easy to put together. They look really nice. The shelf seemed to be a little small when I first looked at it, but after I tightened all the leg screws it works. Both tables are level -I checked with a carpenters level. Also, if you are considering buying this--what is great is that the top piece and drawer are already assembled. The drawer is sturdy and opens and closes very smoothly. It took me maybe 15 minutes total to put them both together.

Took some time to put together, but is sturdy and works well, October 25, 2007 We have had this cabinet for about 6 months now. We bought it to put our recycling in the bin at the end of our kitchen counter. The size and height were perfect for the space we needed it for. We use the baskets to store vitamins in one and plasticware in the other two. What's odd is that the cutting board should be over the bin if you were going to use the bin as a regular trash bin. That would make sense. The cutting board is removable and allows you to see into the top basket. If you follow the instructions the piece turns out to be a very sturdy solid cabinet. The paint sort of smells for about a month though. I believe one person complained about the paint wearing on the shelves where the metal sides of the baskets scrapes. We notice that as well, but it isn't that big of a deal as it comes "distressed" in a few places (white paint marks).
One cool feature is that if you use regular size tall trash bags, they fit well in the bin and there is a wooden square piece that comes off and you place it over the trash bag and bin. Thus, the trash bag stays in place and it looks cleaner and tidy when you pull the bin open to put trash in it. You see the black wood instead of the sides of the trash bag.

Nice writing table for the price, July 5, 2007 I just put the writing table together. It was very easy. The piece seems pretty sturdy. There was a very small hairline crack on one of the corners which is surprising since it was packed very well. One stroke of a black marker took care of it. The drawer opens and closes smoothly. The drawer is designed so you can use it as a keyboard drawer for a computer.
I am now considering buying the bookcase.
