Not for the average woman, February 3, 2009 The battery for this item goes in a compartment in the back of the pedometer. The problem is the clip is also on the back, and over the batteryh compartment. The clip is so tight, that to hold it open with one hand, and insert the battery with the other hand, and intall the cover, is next to impossible. You would have to be Arnold Schwartzenegger to have the strength to do this. I do not recommend this product for that reason.
