Great looking chair- but nervous about weight limit., April 26, 2009 These chairs are very trendy and look great with the Hudson Dining Table and China Cabinet. Easy to assemble, got them together in no time! I do have a few fears about them, they only have a maximum weight limit of 250lbs. My dining room is carpet and these chairs don't do well at all. The legs are so skinny and straight, it is impossible to slide the chair at all for fear of them cracking. I do wish the legs were a bit more flared to allow for easier movement; add to this the padded backs, which don't have anywhere for easy gripping, and the chair becomes a little awkward (maybe I'm spoiled as my previous chairs were indestructable- all wood with spindle backs!). Pulling the chair out from the table, sitting down, and (together with the chair) bouncing your way back to the table isn't physically very fun, however it does provide for great entertainment! I worry that when guests are over that haven't "practiced" with the chairs, we may have a problem. Overall, I do like the chairs, the styling is very nice- they just have a few functional difficulties!

Beautiful contemporay cabinet with easy assembly!!, April 26, 2009 I finally bought the Hudson china cabinet because between the clearance price, free shipping, and 15%off, the final price couldn't be beat! It is a beautiful, contemporary piece of furniture. Assembly was easy and (as another reviewer complained about) yes, it does require the use of a power screwdriver (but wouldn't you want it to?????). The cabinet has amazing storage; I was able to fit an entire china service for 12 plus serving pieces and stemware. My only complaint, and reason for 4 out of 5 stars, is the recommened weight limit of 15lbs for each shelf (I think the dinner plates alone exceed the weight limit!). Overall a beautiful piece, it looks perfect paired with the Hudson dining table and chairs. The entire set feels a lot pricer than it actually was and provides an elegant, modern feel to a small space. Thank you Target for providing upscale styling at an affordable price!

Table could be beautiful if not for damage..., February 26, 2009 Well, you can add me to the list of those who received a damaged table. On the bright side, my table only had one corner mashed in, but it's still very noticable. I'm currently waiting the arrival of a replacement table (if worse comes to worse, hopefully I can piece together both tables to create one good one).
I called Target customer service as soon as I saw the damage and had a smooth experience. Without any hassle they offered to send another table; I'm very happy with the customer service so far. I don't think the problem is UPS's handling; the stryofoam and cardboard box just aren't strong enough to support such a heavy item. If it was packaged better (which is the manufacturer's fault) I don't think there would be any damage.
A few notes on the table itself: Without the leaf, the table is approximately 47" in length. Minus the damaged corners, the table is beautiful, it's a gorgeous espresso that looks a lot more expensive than it is.
If you don't mind the frustration of sending the table back for a replacement, it is totally worth it (especially at the reduced price!). Just don't say these reviews haven't warned you!
