Top Reasons Why I Love This Lamp, November 10, 2007 I received this lamp in July and have used it practically every night. It still has the original bulb. Since I read that some people had problems with the bulb, I was careful when I installed it to only touch the bulb with a tissue because sometimes body oil can adversely affect light bulbs. I love this light so much I am considering getting a second one for another room. Reasons why:
1) excellent light to read by at night (best I've experienced)
2) very adjustable, so you can place it at the right height & angle
3) stylish design, but sturdily built at a very reasonable price.

Going to return it, January 5, 2007 I bought this model today because of the swivel feature and the advertised ease of dirt disposal. I vacuumed one room and my husband, our son, and I were dismayed to hear how loud it was; however, it seemed to be picking up the dust and dirt well enough. I emptied the dust cup and proceded to do another room. This time I noticed that instead of the dirt collecting in the bottom of the trap, some was stuck to the upper part of the dust collecting container. I took it apart and could see that the dust was partially blocking the metal strainer. In addition when I wanted to roll the machine from one room to another (while turned off) I found that I had to hold it at an almost upright angle instead of tilting it normally, otherwise the back of the machine would drag on the floor. I plan to return this vacuum cleaner tomorrow. Despite the claim of easy dirt disposal with this model, you still have to deal with filters. Yes, the dirt collector empties easily, but the foam filter needs to be washed and allowed to dry for 24 hours before reusing and I found the metal strainer (that the foam filter rests on) also needed to be washed. In addition, the directions advise you to shake out the pleated filter every time you empty the dust collector, which puts dust in the air unless you go outside. I plan to buy a bagged Eureka model. My previous vacuum was a Eureka and it was much quieter.
