fine...after you get parts that fit together!, September 17, 2007 i got this product after reading the reviews. after i got the box opened, i began to twist the 2 piece legs together with the metal connecting joints. one was evidentally made improperly. i went to a store which had same product in stock & requested an exchange of those 3 pieces for ones that fit. after retuning home, i tryed to finish by assembling the wheels by screwing them onto those legs. yet again, the screw was made wrong on just one...a bit wide on one spot...and again i returned to that store.
if Whitmor had simply used a quality control check...testing to see that each piece was not stripped or too large before shipping...i would not have suffered this. also, if i had paid to have it shipped, i would have been out the delivery fee!!
i recommend Target contact the maker to pass on this problem, and not carry it until it is remedied.
i recommend you purchase this at your own risk. it is quite sturdy after together, if you can get it together.

**fun & functional! **, April 27, 2007 Antony & Richard Joseph are twin brothers who started their trendy glass-making company in 2002. They aren’t really a newbie, because they are from three generations of British glass makers.
This generation has developed a strong brand-name. Joseph Joseph Limited is recognized as a hot maker of trendy, stylish items for the kitchen. All their designs are fun & original. Cutting boards, wall clocks, and glass serving dishes are currently purchased in 25 countries worldwide.
Target is an American store that actually has this brand! This just goes to show that Target knows the trends of the market today.
AMERICA: you do need to convert the degrees into FAHRENHEIT!! The degrees of sturdiness are listed in CELSIUS! 280 degrees Celsius = 536 degrees Fahrenheit! Fear not, it is quite safe & sturdy. The JosephJoseph name would not be on an inferior product.

joseph joseph designs, April 27, 2007 The makers of this swell design are the Joseph twins, Antony and Richard. They began their company in England recently, in 2002, but are descended from three generations of glass makers! This means that if anybody knows how to make cute glass products durable, they do.
This generation has focused on developing strong brand-name recognition with trendy, stylish items for the kitchen. All their designs are fun & original. Joseph Joseph Limited currently sells worktop savers, wall clocks, and glass serving dishes to 25 countries worldwide.
Target is one of only a very few stores in the States that carry this brand, and the most reputable. This just goes to show that Target has its touch on the pulse of the market today! I only wish they carried more of it.

AMERICAN CARRIERS: you do need to CHANGE DEGREES into FAHRENHEIT!! The degrees of sturdiness are listed in CELSIUS! 280 degrees Celsius = 536 degrees Fahrenheit!
These products are strong because they are fired to be.

great for medium sized families, April 2, 2007 All the KitchenAid mixer models have some of the same excellent features, making any one of them ideal for a lifetime of use.
The motors are more powerful than other common-brand makers.
The planetary-rotation of the beaters helps saves you tons of time! Lovely for making homemade cakes. Whips the air into egg whites like a dream!
You can always order accessories for it. And because it is KitchenAid, you likely will never have problems trying to find replacement pieces if you need them.
And the best feature? Hardly any noise! Family can chat & watch home movies while you finish the frosting...even on higher speeds.
I doubt you will need to ever use the highest speeds, as it does so well in the mid-range.
I like the Professional model for its bowl-lift vs. this model’s tilting head. It just seems more stable & less likely to become unbalanced & tip over.
The real question is: Is the more expensive “Professional” model better than the “Artesian”, or even the smaller "Heavy-Duty" models?
Don't waste your money on a Pro. if you hardly ever bake. It is really designed for major home use!
The smaller size "Heavy-Duty" models are fine for couples or small families (3-4) that never have the need to bake tons of cookies.
The “Artesian” model is fine for most families.
Like the Pro., it has a larger bowl, thus less time needed for huge amounts. It has a tremendous motor, which will not likely get burnt-out from over use…unless you have a home business bakery or such. And that is not what this model is made to handle.
It is made to withstand the heavy use of a medium-sized family (4-7) which likes homemade meals.
If this sounds like your family, or your “family-to-be”, and you plan to bake enough “for an army” every Thanksgiving and Christmas, the Artesian model is yours! Your family will enjoy having it to use for years to come.

slightly different style in Cobalt Blue, April 2, 2007 All my Kitchenaid is in Cobalt Blue. The mixer I purchased years ago seems to be discontinued? :(
But this style has many of its best features, so I felt it right to write here.
Like the Professional model, it had the bowl-lift & not the tilting head. This feature is my preference, because it seems more stable. (less likely to become unbalanced & tip over)

Anyone who has to bake daily batches of bread, cookies, and cakes...for a large family (6-10), or if it is to be used in a church, for bake bake sales, etc., then it is vital to have a large-capacity model with a bigger motor. (Otherwise, you could wear out the motor.)If you have, or are planning to have a large family, and lots of sit-down dinners together, this is your mixer.
Do consider this if you are a “bride-to-be” for your 1st & only home mixer you'll ever need.

Mini Salad Spinner

better than kitchenaid's, but zyliss has some merits, April 1, 2007 this spinner does stop with a separate button as does the zyliss model. however, it requires a sturdy surface & tons of plunging down to make it go round.
the zyliss model uses a handle attached to a pull-cord, & can be done sitting anywhere!
the kitchenaid huge one has separation available for small portions of different veggies or berries, for less brutality. however, it has no button to stop spin. going gung-ho plunging can be a frustration, as the spin will stop if you go too far down.
i would say this is a good model, however if you prefer fun & a rest instead of a workout...go zyliss!

Zyliss Easy-Spin Salad Spinner - 3 Servings

best make for spinner, April 1, 2007 this is fine for salads for 1 or 2, or for berries or herbs.
it spins by means of pulling a cord, rather like starting a lawn mower. it can get very fast, so it can get greens nicely dry. a separate button stops the spin abruptly.
it seems well made. it is far better than the kitchenaid & better than the oxo models. they need fast plunging to make them go round. that means more work...if you need that kind of workout. those makers' models also do not spin as fast, meaning more time is spent in drying.
the kitchenaid one does have a separator for 3 fruits at a time, though. still, it has problems. see comments on that page.
i would recommend the zyliss spinner hands down as the best model out there.

KitchenAid Red Salad and Fruit Spinner

the good & the bad of it, March 22, 2007 i wanted cobalt blue, but target sadly does not stock it.
the attraction for me was separation segments that can make it faster & easier to wash many fruits & veggies at once. the fact that the lid can be used to seal it for travel, & that the huge bowl can be used for serving is a plus also.
however, the stop design is a flaw. as the oxo brand does, the plunger is pushed down fast & hard to make the basket spin the dirty water away. unlike the oxo & zyliss ones, however, which use a separate stop button, the kitchenaid brand does not have a separate button. if you push down too far while pumping it to go faster, it will come to an abrupt halt!! this makes it very frustating.
i recommend the zyliss model for fastness & fun. it comes in a small size for fruits. the large model, unfortunately is not as large as the kitchenaid.
unless the size & separation segments are needed, don't bother with this product. :(

clean-up quickly & easily, November 3, 2006 This is a must for those couples, or individuals, who don't just mike or dine out. It is not too heavy to move from burner to burner. Stirring or tossing food is easy. Uses like a wok for veggies. Can be used for noodle dishes, soups, or small bits of meat. Doesn't take up much space in cupboard or hanging rack.* I've used mine for some time, and still appears new. Glad I found it everyday.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
Wipes clean with just a moist washcloth (no dishwasher needed).
Always cook it on MEDIUM, to assure ANY non-stick pan wont peel or bubble.
Use only non-scratching utensils: rubber, plastic, wood, silicon.
*One more tip: to prevent scratching of pans if stacked in a cupboard, try placing folded paper towels inside…between each pan!

Dyson DC07 All Floors Vacuum

if you can afford $400, buy it!!!, November 3, 2006 As with any big-ticket item, before I buy, I always study each maker, model, read the facts, and consider the opinions of those who have one. I highly recommend going online to read a bit about the maker (DYSON) and this product. I also read Consumer Reports for their opinion.
I decided that it should be good for general carpet tidying. (Wait until they have an incentive bonus, usually a couple months before Christmas!)
Anything negative to say? I was surprised that the cord did not have a gadget to help it roll back up, as our ancient metal one did (think tape-measure). Also, I was used to the reclining foot-knob being at back, not front. One does get used to it, ‘though.
Never mind, all else has been quite positive. Foremost, it has power! Evidentially the living room carpet was extremely dust-laden. On my first swift sweep of the central spot, the canister was filled with fine powdery filth! So, right off I needed to chuck the stuff. No bags, and effortless to eject & re-attach, which meant no dust mites and pollen escaping. (Imagine the nasty buggies removed!) The canister can be wiped with a dampened cloth to remove any particle buildup.
Superb for allergies, sneeze-free. No more excuses for avoiding clean-up, because I can breathe. It actually cleans out the air instead of ejecting dust into it!
Results were astonishing! The carpeting looked brand new, 2 shades lighter, and all the disgusting accumulated carpet-fuzz was sucked away with the dust particles. It’s almost like we re-carpeted! Worth every penny, because it will never lose it's sucking strength.*
*P.S. the life-time filter should not need replacement! For those who purchased this model & are now having suction issues, please read your manual. It tells you how to keep the filter clean, & the suction full-strength. Depending on how much you vacuum, it may need rinsed out every 4 months to once a year.
Filter Washing
Step 1: Press the release button and remove the filter housing from the machine. The post-motor filter located under the clear bin™ should last the lifetime of the machine and does not need to be washed.
Step 2: Remove filter from the housing. (Only the blue foam, yellow cage & white cloth should be washed.)
Step 3: Wash by hand until the water finally runs clear. Do not use soap; use cold water only!
Target does carry a spare [...]. This is only needed if while cleaning the removable one you need to continue with vacuuming. (Spare filter works on particles as small as 0.1 microns.)

This is a brilliant product with a reasonable warrantee. Perfect for anyone’s small home or apartment. Brides really should ask for it!
