Bad design, January 18, 2009 The toaster is wide to hold bagels, but watch out toasting a pop tart. There is enough space on either side of the metal piece that holds the bread on the bottom for a pop tart to slide right by. It happens to us all the time, and we have to unplug it and pull it out piece by piece -- what a pain when we are trying to hurry in the mornings! Otherwise, the toaster is okay, though it is true that it does not come up high enough to easily grab the bread. I liked our 12.99 toaster that we had before more than this more expensive one.
