Shaun White Snowboarding (Target Edition) (PlayStation 3)

Fun game, December 25, 2008 Shaun White Snowboarding is a good game overall, especially for those who enjoy snowboarding or like games like Tony Hawk. The mountains are big so it gives you a feel like you're really snowboarding. The online play is fun too. The tricks are fairly easy to perform I thought, but that just makes it more fun if you want to make a nice looking run down the mountain. Don't listen to the reviews from game websites, they don't know what their talking about, seriously.

Logitech Computer Speakers - X240

Great sound, November 30, 2008 I just picked up these speakers and they sound GREAT! At the same time I bought some Phillips speakers to compare them, the Phillips cost more, had more power, where bigger, but there was a huge difference in the sound quality. At Target they had these and the X140s on display, these where noticeably better than the X140s as well. I think what makes the difference is that the X240s come with a subwoofer, so you can clearly hear the difference between the lows and highs, and you can adjust the subwoofer level. I've been using them for music and games and I'm VERY satisfied with the sound quality.

Nice TV, November 25, 2008 I've had the TV for 3 months now and had minor problems. I of course got the warranty, which I reccomend because its better than other places warranties. The screen is great, I watch Blue Ray movies and play PS3 games on it and its great!
The only problem is the Auto setting for the screen format, it doesn't work. Its supposed to auto-detect the screen size of the movie your watching for example. But a few times durring a movie the screen would switch from wide-screen to some expanded-zoon mode all by itself, then go back to the right setting. Its a simple fix, just don't use the auto feature, set it manually to wide screen, so its not a huge problem.. I went to Phillips site and they said a firmware upgrade should fix it, but it didn't, because the tv already had the upgrade when I got it.
Other than that, its a great TV.
I know there have been a few very negative comments, but really you take risk with buying any kind of electronics.
My parents bought a Westinghouse TV a few years ago, which I wouldn't consider a well known or trusted brand, and it works perfectly fine, no problems at all. But then I've seen reviews of those TVs with serious problems. I think of sony as a good brand, but the last sony car CD-Deck I bought, after a few years it doesn't spin the CDs half the time when I put them in, so even good brand name products fail.

Excelent system, November 25, 2008 Expensive, but it IS the most powerful system out there and has far greater potential than any other system. Plus its a blue ray player, that alone cost a few bucks, and they look great on an HDTV. I've had my PS3 a year now and very satisfied. It does seem to get hot, so keep it in a well ventilated area. And BUY THE EXTENDED SERVICE PLAN from Target, Target has the cheapest plan I've seen and its for 3 years, the one from another store costs more and is only 2 years. I haven't had any problems with my system, but a friends stopped reading Blue Ray disks, luckly he had the extended warranty and its getting fixed now.
It is a lot of money, and it hurt when I bought it, and still hurts to buy games, lol, but its worth it.

Great Snowboarding Game, November 25, 2008 Well I have this game for the PS3, but I don't see it on here to add the review...
I loved the Cool Boarders games on the PS1 and PS2, and this one is a good game, I only played a few hours so far but I'm hooked. Graphics are good, terrain is good. Mountains are big, you have a lot of options for runs to take, and there are multiple chairlifts you can ride up and look around while going up, so it really gives a feel that your out snowboarding.
I think its kinda easy to do tricks, I just have the basic board so far and I hardly ever fall.
Like the last guy said, if you like snowboarding, you'll like this game, at least for me, the game does kinda give you a feel like yor on the mountain.
I have yet to play online or use the replay feature, but I suspect it'll be pretty sweet. I'll wait til I'm a little better to record replays, lol.

Way to easy....., November 25, 2008 Well this is a good game if you don't want to try hard at all to win. I played this game once with someone who actualyl owned the game, and I was able to beat them in a MazdaSpeed3, they where in a lambogini! Why? Because they didn't know how to drive, and this game is sadly easy to drive in, you rarely have to break for turnes, maybe just let off the gas a little... I played some drift race and it was again really easy to drift, didn't really have to do anything to keep drifting.
The graphics weren't impressive at all, the cars, well their flashy cars that none of us will ever own...
This is just a typical mainstream racing game with flashy cars, little challenge, and hardly any upgrading uptions. Ok well you can change the appearance of the car which is cool, but who cares, that doesn't make your car turn better or accellerate better...
Sorry but I come from playing the Gran Turismo games, which take a LOT of practice to get good at, so other games seem pretty easy.

Resistance 2 (PlayStation 3)

Only Ok..., November 25, 2008 I say the game is only ok because it didn't feel like anything special. The campain is fun, has an ok story. The graphics and environment are great. The ending... well, I'll let you see it, they make it look like there will be a 3rd game.
What I didn't like...
There wasn't any consistancy with how difficult the game was. I started out playing the game at the hardest difficulty, I got past a few boss fights without even a scratch, it was VERY easy, even some of the normal enemies where very easy to deal with and very dumb at the hardest difficulty.
What made it screwy is that some random parts of the game, and some random enemies, where VERY hard. Like you are pretty much garunteed to die at least a few times until you realize what you need to do. This really annoyed me because it wasn't consistant, it would be either VERY easy, or VERY hard. And all the boss fights where VERY easy for the most part. And then once you saw exactly what to do in some situation, it was increadibly easy. So basically you WILL die several times just to figure out how to get past things.
I died more in this game than I have in any other game I ever played. I stopped enjoying it about half way through because of the inconsistancies in how difficult it was.
The online play is nothing special either. the 60 player mass games are pointless because wheres no goal, its just a mass of people shooting back and forth, and for what? The loosing team just gets pushed back into a different part of the map and thats it.
I personally dislike those big deathmatch games with no goal other than to win the 10 minute round, its borring...
And the different character roles are a stupid idea, if its only you and one other friend wanting to play, one of you MUST be the medic, otherwise you have no way of healing yourself. The medic role is really pointless too, because all he must do is shoot into a crowd of players and they all magically get healed if their within the blast area. Way way way to easy, and pointless. I've played a game where the medic could only heal one person at a time and it could take 10 seconds to heal someone near death. This makes you actually have to THINK about what your doing and your roll.
Sorry but Resistance2 is just an average first person shooter with nothing unique about it to make it worth spending a lot of time playing. there are other games out there that are more interesting, more detailed, and have more to do than Resistance 2.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 (PlayStation 3)

Great Game, November 25, 2008 This is a good tactical first person shooter. Very challenging but not to hard. This isn't like many FPS's I've played where you can practically run out in the open and blast your way through enemies.. In Vegas2, if you run into the open or run into a room without looking around first, you WILL die pretty fast. I watched someone play this game who was pretty good at other games like halo, gears of war, and resistance. But when he tried Vegas2 he got wasted and gave up pretty fast. Because like I said, you can't just run around wild in this game, you have to be carful, which is why its called a tactical first person shooter.
The story is ok, the gameplay and areas you move through are awesome and very detailed. The online play is really fun, especially the co-op terrorist hunts. I personally don't like the deathmatch games because the few times I played that I found people cheating, I unloaded an entire clip directly on someone from like 4 feet away, which is way more than enough to kill them, and they didn't die. So stay away from the deathmatch games because thats where the jackasses play.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (PlayStation 3)

Ok..., November 25, 2008 This game is only ok... I've played the GT series since the first one about 11 years ago and loved them since. But I wasn't as pleased with the Prologue. It felt like more of a demo for GT5 because it only gives you like 5 tracks. I guess I sortof expected that, but I lost even more faith in the game once I found out they where delaying the REAL GT5 just to make improvments on the Prologue, which doesn't make sence to me at all.
Aside from that, the graphics are nice, cars are ok, you can't modify them though, I think you might be able to after beating the game, but what good does it do at that point?
the online play isn't that great because a lot of people use this option that helps you keep control of your car, which is practically like using a cheat because it straightens you out if your sliding out of control....
The game in general is hard if you haven't played a gran turismo game. After all the last GT was called "The Real Driving Simulator" The GT games are much harder than any other racing game. So don't expect to pick up the Prologue and be good at it if you haven't played a gran turismo game before.

Grand Theft Auto IV for PlayStation 3

Some great, Some bad..., November 25, 2008 I'll start with the great... The details of the city are GREAT! You can drive or walk around and you really feel like your there. The options for just messing around in this game seem unlimited. I'll probably keep the game until the next one.
Ok, the bad.
The story and missions where terrible, whoever thinks they where good is insane. Just about every mission pertaining to the story-line(not the extra missions) involved killing people, or going on drug deals which ended up in killing people. And you where always doing the missions for other people, to make money, how sad is that?
Who in the right mind wants to imagine an immigrant comming to our country and doing nothing but killing people just to get by? And in the end you end up meeting a nice normal girl, and she gets killed! And in the end your character seems very depressed and disappointed in what he's done. The game ends in sadness!
The rest of the game aside from the story was great, the gameplay, detail, everything else is great. T
he story is just horrible. Your character is practically a terrorist I think, which is a really really bad thing after what happened in 2001.
Heres an example of how horrible of a person the character is.. One time I was on a mission to kill someone, not surprised, and as I was gunning them down the character yells out "DIE MOTHER F******"
So yes I was thuroughly discusted in the story and path they made the character go on to turn into an evil person.
Who in their right mind wants to play that bad of a character???
And the music in the game isn't good at all compared to the last GTA. I haven't hear most of the songs and honestly I think they suck. the last GTA at least had a lot of classics that everyone has heard of.
But anyway, I give the game a 5 star because is really is a great game overall, the story is just horrible. And the online play is great as well.
