Totally Without Value, May 17, 2008 This "air cooler" is beyond useless. The entire principle of an evaporative cooler is to add moisture to the air, thus bringing down the temp by a few degrees. I'm sitting right next to my Sunpentown cooler right now and letting it blow on me - the effect is that my lips and face are getting chapped! That's right - the cooler is pumping out extremely dry air even though it's filled with water. It's basically no better than a glorified fan. Evaporative coolers DO work in dry environments - I have a Convair one that works really well in the living room of my house. This one is another story altogether - A WASTE OF MONEY.
