I hate mowing, September 13, 2006 ...but my Scott's mower makes it as fun as possible. Let's take these points in order. "It's louder than I expected." It's cutting grass, and a gas mower is WAY louder. "Don't try this if your yard is too big." My lot is 20,000 sq ft, so I have a lot of yard. I don't mow my yard all at once. It's do-able, it just takes longer. "It doesn't cut up to the edge of the sidewalk." Whatever - get a weed whacker. "It doesn't cut the weeds, and it gets stuck on sticks." They're right, it doesn't cut stiff, sticky-up weeds. It does cut lots of broadleaf and softer weeds. Get the weeds and sticks out of your yard, they're not supposed to be there anyway. Use the same technique as when you are picking up lint with the vacuum: go over it once, then again, then again, then if it's still there, bend over and pull it up. Case closed. And when you have to manuever the mower, you just back it up, turn it around, whatever. No gears, no turning circle, and light enough so you can pick it up if you need to. Mow any time of day, any time you have, without worrying about if there's gas in the tank. Clean it by spraying the grass off with a hose and spritzing it with WD-40, takes about 3 minutes and it's pristine. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is, I have some concern about the quality of the materials used and how long they'll last. But for the money it's a great value. Try it, you'll like it!
