Satisfies My Deep-Rooted Cumpulsion to Organize!, February 13, 2008 Bought the desk and the file cabinet and just had to get the hutch, too. Two drawers and a center cubby give me lots of space to store all the little things that usually clutter up a desk; a good thing since my home office is in my living room. The desk is lovely on it's own and looks even better with the hutch in place. It is sturdy and well-made and easy to assemble. I'm going to drill a couple of holes through the back to accomodate my monitor and printer cords. All-in-all, I'm quite pleased with all the Hudson furniture I bought, and it's even better that I got it on sale!

So Much More Stylish Than My Plastic File Box!, February 13, 2008 I bought the Hudson computer desk mainly because it doesn't look like a computer desk. (I wanted something simple and unobtrusive since it has to go in my living room.) I decided to get the matching file cabinet too, so I could get rid of the cheap plastic file box that takes up so much room in my closet. Like the desk, the file cabinet is sturdy and well-made. It's a deep, rich color, it's lines are sleek and simple, and it doesn't look like a file cabinet. Had a little trouble getting the top drawer to close all the way, and I had to re-do it, but that's what I get for talking on the phone during assembly. There's plenty of room for my files inside, and it makes a great printer stand. I also got the desk-top hutch, and it all looks so stylish that I really don't mind having my home office in the middle of my living room.

My Search Is Over, February 13, 2008 Darling Boyfriend bought me a computer for Christmas. (Thrilled beyond belief.) Just one problem: the only place to put it is in the living room, and most of the computer desks I've seen are hideously ugly, not something I'd want to look at every day. Spent over a month looking around town with no luck. I've bought furniture at Target for the aforementioned Darling Boyfriend's house, and it suits his casual decor perfectly, but I had never considered it as a source for myself, as my taste is more formal. This desk blends seamlessly into a room full of high-end furniture and no one would ever guess that it came from - gasp - Target! The color is rich and deep, the lines are sleek and simple, and this desk would compliment many different furniture styles. It was a breeze to put together, it's sturdy and well-made, and there's plenty of room for my flat-screen monitor. I bought the matching hutch and file cabinet as well. Best of all, it was all on sale!

Good Looks And Hidden Storage, January 14, 2008 I bought two of the chairs in black at my local store and I'm so glad I got the matching ottomans. They make it so comfortable to stretch out while you're reading or watching a movie. The hidden storage is such a plus; at last, a place for the kids to keep their unsightly tangle of video game controllers under wraps. As for getting them to actually put things away when they're finished, I'm afraid you're on your own.

Well Worth The Price, January 14, 2008 I bought two of these chairs with matching ottomans at my local store. (You can get them in black, too.) They're very sleek and stylish and just the right size for a small space. They're a little stiff at first, but don't worry, they'll loosen up nicely. I've had mine since May, and they've proven to wear well, which is a good thing when you've got two teenagers, two lazy house cats, and a rambunctious nine-year-old constantly flopping on them. I'd love them just as much if I'd paid full price for them.

Almost Perfect, January 14, 2008 I had been looking for a coffee table for a small room. I wanted it to have a very simple metal base and a glass top so that it wouldn't take up too much space visually. (The idea being that your eye looks "through" it.) I also wanted it to be silver, and I didn't want to pay a lot. I looked for over a year with no luck, then saw this one on the website. The color wasn't what I had in mind, but that's easily to change. (There's a spray paint out now that looks remarkably like sterling silver.) The tables arrived in good condition and were simple to put together. I didn't really want or need the matching end tables, but have since decided to re-purpose them as nightstands in another room.

Metal Table Lamp - Silvertone

This Is A Lot of Lamp For The Price, January 14, 2008 I ordered a pair of similar, but smaller, lamps for either side of the sofa. I didn't want all of the lamps in the room to match exactly, so I chose this one to put next to an armchair. When I unpacked it, I was pleasantly surprised. Although it's only an inch taller than the other lamps, it looks much larger, probably because the shade is very wide at the bottom. It looks so much like a lamp that I had been admiring in an upscale decorator's catalog, but costs three hundred dollars less.

I Bought Two, So Can I Give This Ten Stars?, January 14, 2008 I bought a pair of these for either side of the sofa, and another similar silver lamp to put next to an armchair. I was a little hesitant to order these on-line, what with visions of crushed lampshades dancing in my head and all, but they were well-packed and arrived in perfect condition. The lamps are well-balanced, with graceful lines, and the shades are in proportion to the base. They look a lot more expensive than they actually were.

One Small Glitch But It Still Gets 5 Stars!, January 14, 2008 Bought a pair of these and the matching tv stand. One of the side panels was cracked so I had to order a replacement. It arrived in just two days and in perfect condition. The instructions were very clear and assembly was easy. (just be very careful when putting the dowels into the legs: leave just a half inch sticking out, not half the dowel.) I love the way it looks in the rather-smallish size living room; its not so big as to be overwhelming. One thing did bother me, though: I could see raw wood exposed on the insides where there were extra sets of holes drilled to accomodate the adjustable shelves.
Go ahead and laugh- my boyfriend did; I believe the word he used was "obsessive". An 89 cent bottle of black craft paint and a watercolor brush took care of the problem and even he had to admit that sometimes attention to detail is not a bad thing.

5 STARS IS NOT ENOUGH!, July 25, 2007 Saw these at my local Target store and had to have them. (Good thing there was a pair in my size, or like Cinderella's Ugly Stepsisters, I would have had to resort to drastic measures.) They didn't go with a thing in my closet, which was a plus, because then I had the perfect excuse to buy a new top. They're very comfortable, and I feel terribly chic clickety-clacking down the aisle of the supermarket. Best of all? They were on sale!
