Real Simple Planning Calendar with Stickers
 |
|
Wish it were bigger, March 23, 2009 It's pretty nice, but I wish it were larger. I hung it on a nail above my desk and I could barely see my appointments on it without squinting, and I have average vision. The color-coded stickers are very handy. The directions say they are easily movable, but they never stick quite right on second stick. If you write directly on the calendar with pen, it has to dry -- the calendar is made of shiny paper -- and there's not a whole lot of room. I'm planning to get a larger desk calendar that I can write directly on.

Great!, March 23, 2009 Great! I use one for the darks and one for the lights. The short one holds about one load and the taller one, 2. Both have pockets on the side to hold a delicates bag or perhaps your detergent and dryer sheets. I even used the taller one to go to the laundromat and do laundry -- it's four blocks away from my apartment, and it's much more comfortable to hold than the laundry bag I bought later that slings over my body. They're sturdy and stand on their own in the corner of my room.

They're okay towels for the price range/duty, March 23, 2009 I don't understand people's low regard for these towels. I mean, they're not going to last forever, but what do people expect when they get 6 towels for [Price] If you want towels that are not going to shed a bit or snag at all, go to a department store and pay [Price]for them or something.
Anyway, these towels do what they are supposed to do, which is dry you. They're not fancy, but they're nice looking. I have had a small problem with the shedding -- the little fibers get in the tub if I dry off in the tub, or I'll find them on the bath mat later -- but it's nothing that hand-vaccing the bath mat and cleaning the tub (like you regularly would) wouldn't get rid of anyway. They're not super-fluffy but they're not hard and uncomfortable, either.
They do snag easily, and that's more annoying. I have a navel piercing and the towels always get caught on it, so I have to be really careful drying that area. But I've washed these towels a couple of times and they're still the same color as they were when I bought them, and I wash them in the laundromat's industrial washers and dryers -- the lint filter is still gray. Honestly, if you just need some inexpensive towels that will do their job if you're a student or someone on a budget, they're absolutely fine, but if you want a conversation piece in your bathroom or something that will last you for ages, get something else.

3-Drawer Rolling Mesh Cart

Great all purpose cart, March 23, 2009 I never thought to put my printer on top of the cart -- I have a lot of cosmetics and I didn't want them all on top of my dresser, so I put them in this (flat irons, blow dryer, makeup, a couple purses, etc.) It would be great to put my printer on it and free up some desk space, though!
It's smaller than I thought -- not as big as those white Sterilite rolling carts with the clear drawers, but this one is MUCH better than those. It's sturdier and the drawers are less prone to cracking; the casing between the drawers don't sag.

Good deal, keeps the clutter organized, March 23, 2009 I hate clutter on my desk, so I bought this to take all the small things (USB drives, staples, paper clips, chargers, printer cartridges, etc.) off my desk. It's quite a bit bigger than I expected, probably about 7-9" in each direction. But it's still pretty awesome -- you just have to screw the handle to one of the drawers on and it works from there. I immediately threw all the small parts on my desk in here and it's awesome. The magnets will be great for little notices to myself and the photo frame is a nice touch, if you can find a 5x3 photo (they couldn't make it 4x6?)
On the sides you can't see in the picture, there are 1) two long black stretchy strips of fabric stapled to the box, possibly to attach long thin things (like you could slip pens in there, and they'll hold and 2) another side that looks nearly identical to the one in the picture, except that the bottom drawer isn't sectioned and has the larger handle that you have to screw on. Holes are pre-drilled.

Good, March 23, 2009 The picture makes it look like the sides are sturdy but they're not -- it's all cloth, and it's rather thin cloth, too. I was just using it to store extra sheets and pillowcases, and so it's fine. Better than spending [Price]for a plastic one!

Good piece, March 23, 2009 This is a good little bedside organizer; you put it between the mattress and bedspring. It's got lots of pockets in different sizes, and it keeps the clutter off my floor. However, if you fill it up like the picture shows, it'll start sliding from under the mattress.

Good chair, nice size!, March 23, 2009 This chair is great! I got it (and the pink one) a couple of days ago to put in my bedroom in my apartment for when friends come over. It sits quite low -- as you should expect from a dish chair, I think -- but it makes it perfect for the TV stand that I purchased (it makes me eye level with the TV stand, which is about 26" high). It's comfortable, and I can sit with my legs crossed in it (I'm 5'2"). I had some taller guests over and they all felt comfortable sitting in it, too. Comes already assembled, and it folds so that you can store it, although the dish part doesn't fold so you probably won't be able to fit it in a closet unless you have a big closet.
One word of warning: my 2-year-old cousin attempted to sit in this chair twice, and twice she fell over. This was accomplished when she leaned out of the chair to get something, and the second time when she leaned backwards. The same thing didn't happen when me and another adults sat in it, so I'm thinking it's just not good for small children to attempt to sit in this.

Great chair!, March 23, 2009 This chair is great! I got it (and the black one) a couple of days ago to put in my bedroom in my apartment for when friends come over. The lining is a mesh over some soft material, and it's a bit brighter than the picture. TV Stand with Glass Doors - Black

Great Stand!, March 23, 2009 This is a great TV stand. I was searching for one to put in my bedroom, and a lot of other ones around the same size are much more money -- I didn't want to pay more than [Price]for a TV stand on a student budget! This is perfect. The assembly took about 5 minutes all together, no tools required. It sits a little low -- I mostly play Wii on my television and standing up, you'll have to look down at the screen, and even sitting on my bed it's a little below eye level. But I had also bought some low disk chairs and those put you right at eye level.
The middle shelf is just great for my game systems (but don't try to stand them up on the stand -- they won't fit that way, they have to lay) and the glass doors hold the games and controllers. There's also a punch-out hole in the back so if you wanted to put the systems down there, standing up, you could do that and feed the wires through that hole.
Note: the description says you can put a 20-in TV on there, and some of you might wonder whether that means a LCD flatscreen or whether that includes a CRT. I have a 20-in CRT TV that weighs about 50 pounds and it's sitting on there, no bowing in the middle or anything. It does extend a little off the back of the top shelf, though.
