A little bit better, January 2, 2009 I purchased this unit and got great reception on about 1/10th the stations available in my area.. about 16 channels. I returned it and purchased a amplified HD antenna GE HDTV Quantum Antenna - Silver (24775) to try and get more stations. The new antenna was more about [price] more and it is garbage it doesn't get any channels at all when placed on top of my tv like this Phillips did. I have to put it 4ft up in a window to get 5 channels... This Philips unit is a great buy for the money!!!! Works better then higher priced amplified antenna (GE HDTV Quantum Antenna - Silver (24775) ) I will be returning the new one and upgrading to the Philips amplified antenna tomorrow.. i will post results... Great antenna for the money!!!!
Worst So Far..., January 2, 2009 This unit is over priced and horable!!! I originally purchased the [price] Philips unit and returned it because I couldn't get even 1/10th the channels available in my area.. The Philips unit was not amplified.. I got 16 channels perfectly.. With this GE amplified unit I get 5 and they are very low signal strength... I also have to put this unit up about 4ft high in the window to get 5 channels if I put it on top of my TV like I did with the Philips I get no channels at all. This unit is truly garbage, so i will go back to my local store tomorrow and return it and spend [price] more for the amplified Philips and see what happens.... i would rate the [price] Philips at least a 3 it is so much better then this one... DONT BUY!!!!!
