As a microbiologist Im ok with the small water reserve because that means there is less chance for bacterial growth inside. I also suggest to everyone to be sure NOT to use hard water in the unit. Buy a the jug from the store. The harder the water the more mineral deposits and soon it "won't work". You can do a vinegar soak to remove the deposits but rinse well or the room will smell like a salad.
