not youth sized, August 26, 2009 I purchased this desk because it was in the youth category, but I should have paid closer attention to the dimentions because it is a standard size chair. (My 11 year old daughter's desk is a youth desk.)
The chair itself was easy to put together and appears to be sturdy. It matches well with the rest of my daughter's cottage white furniture I purchased elsewhere.
