Four starsPatience is a virtue, March 23, 2008
I bought the dresser for my apartment, and I like it very much. It looks great and matches the look I was going for (classic-contemporary.)

I was a bit intimidated by some of the negative reviews I read on here when it came time to assemble it. However, assembly was fine. My boyfriend and I put it together in 2 hours, and made sure to follow the directions and be careful, thorough, and patient while assembling it. The end result was an attractive and functional dresser.

The only things I didn't like about the dresser were:
1) The drawer handles can scratch the drawer faces during assembly if you aren't careful.
2) The drawer runners are plastic, as are most of the assembly pegs.
3) The package flat was 90 lbs, so I had to enlist the help of 2 strong male friends to get it up to my third floor walkup. (The [delivery] man didn't even TRY that one.)

Other than that, I've been really happy with it!

Two starsA few caveats, March 23, 2008
I needed a cheap cookset quickly, and these were cheap, attractive, and easy to store. My sister had a similar set in her apartment at school, and was happy with them, too.
However, after I had them a few weeks, I discovered the following problems:

1) The plastic heatproof handles are attached to the pot at the base with METAL screws that are not covered. I found this out the hard way, when I burned myself on them picking up a pot of boiling water with the dog circling my feet. (Fortunately, I didn't drop the pot.) It's fine if you don't hold the handle near the base by the pot, however.

2) The directions never said not to use metal cooking utensils (which I know is obvious to experienced cooks, but not to people who are just beginning to cook on their own and would purchase a "great start" cookset.) When I stirred some rice with a metal utensil, it seriously chipped the non-stick coating. Of course, once the coating's chipped, you can't use the pot anymore. (Ironically, this part is included in the directions.) So basically, I got three week's use out of the 2 qt pot before I had to go buy a new one.

Needless to say, I wasn't too happy. I'll be picking up some wooden spoons with my next 2 qt pot to save the remaining pieces of the cookset.
