Bad taste, too loud, December 22, 2008 The good:
1. Nice easy-to-push buttons to dispense cold water and hot water
2. Hot water is not boiling but is hot enough for tea, hot chocolate, oatmeal, etc.
3. Cold water is the ideal temperature for drinking--cold but not too cold.
4. Lots of room for tall cups
The bad:
1. No spigot for room temperature water. There is only hot and cold.
2. Nearly impossible to put a bottle of water without spilling several cups of water all over the floor and walls. It would work OK if I used the sealed bottles, but I refill my bottles at a local store.
3. The refrigerating motor is fairly loud.
4. Foul taste. The cooler turns nice water into a foul-tasting liquid that I wouldn't serve even to my neighbor's ill-tempered dog. My daughter said "It tastes like a motor" and wouldn't drink it. I washed the inside of the cooler with water and bleach, and ran several gallons of water and bleach through the cold and hot water systems. That helped a lot. I can't detect the foul taste anymore, but my wife can. She still won't drink it.
We got this cooler as a gift in mid-October 2008. We've been using it for almost two months.
DO NOT BUY.
UPDATE Jan 19, 2009: The foul taste came back and even I could taste it. I cleaned out the water cooler again. Then it started leaking all over my kitchen floor. We took it back to Target. This water cooler has been worse than useless.
