I have two Siberian huskies and have to vacuum every other day. This vacuum is a great, affordable cleaner. Past reviews said it didn't have suction - you have to lower it to a very short carpet height to allow it to clean. Also, you have to make sure you clean the receptacle, brush, filters and hoses often or else it will not grab anything. It is a little bit high maintenance but it does a good job.

This is the worst vacuum ever. My Dirt Devil floor sweeper pick up better than this vacuum. Don't waste your money or time even looking at it. It has no suction at all. If I could give this zero stars I would.

This is the worst vacuum ever. It doesn't pick anything up! It doesn't even look like I've used a vacuum after using this. Do NOT waste your money.

Belt Slips Off Easily

We owned this vacuum for about two years and were never satisfied. The belt would slip of regularly, it would smell funny much of the time, it clogged up easily, and then it started making a weired fluttering noise that I could not figure out, however, I'm pretty sure it had to do with the way the hose was designed. My wife finally got fed up with it and let me by her a new vacuum. We went back to a bagged version because we had to dump the bagless vac too often and when we did we many dust particles would just float right back into the air for us to breathe and vacuum up again. The only good thing I can say about this vacuum is that it had a good motor.

brush breaks all of the time

The brush on this vacuum breaks very easily. My brush has broken twice with in a year. It breaks when I use the attachments. The brush apperently heats up and melts. I will say that Bissell has replaced the brush both times for free, I think they know that the brush is junk.

Purchased this vacuum less than 2 months ago. Noticed an odor coming from the vaccum. I turned it off and checked for clogs or debris. Nothing. Turned it back on an it started making a loud noise. The brush stopped turning. Turned it off again and inspected the brush only to find that the ends had melted! This is the second one I have had trouble with. Never again.

Please Please do not purchase this vacuum. I purchased it only 8 months ago and we had to throw it out last week. Very poor quality--plain and simple!!

I've had this vacuum for almost 3 years, and I absolutely love it. We have 2 cats and 2 dogs, and their hair stands no chance against this vacuum. There's a totally day and night difference in my rugs after I vacuum. It's amazing. The only downfall is that it is a tad messy to empy the tray, but I usually have a plastic grocery bag ready for dumping. Just make sure you keep the filters clean and the airways free or it WILL lose suction.

This is a terrible product. We bought this about five months ago and have had nothing but problems. It constantly clogs in the hose, it has very little suction, and cleaning/emptying the canister gets the floor messier than before I ran the vacuum! If you see it in the store, just walk on by.

We bought this vacuum February 2006, and it KICKED BUTT - really, I was grossed out at how dirty my floors had been and I was really impressed with the filtration system, keeping the exhaust air clean for my two children. However, in the past month, whenever I switch it on it makes this horrible noise, like it can't get any air, and it stinks. And the suction at this point, well, it just plain sucks. If changing the filters makes a difference, I'll come back and re-post, otherwise, it's a great vacuum if you don't care to buy one every year.
