This bench is the right size for my entry, but the color is much redder and lighter than the picture shows. I was hoping for a dark expresso brown. It does have nice storage for shoes and accessories and the assembly was easy.

I purchased this piece for my entryway. I has a very nice dark cherry color. The wood is very sturdy and the harware pieces put together easily. There is a good amount of storage space and the lid is hinged so it doesn't close on you when storing items.

I ordered this bench with the intention of using it as toy storage in our family room. Unfortunately, it is not as dark as it appears in the picture online. I thought that it would match the walnut stained woods that we already have, but the finish has more red undertones than I expected. It would probably go well with cherry stained woods if that's what you're looking for. [...]

I received this bench about one month ago to go in our entry way. I use it as a place for the kids to sit and take of their shoes, which works perfectly.
The storage inside is perfect for the kids' backpacks, gloves and hats.
And besides being functional, this bench is beautiful. The finish is a little lighter and a little redder than it appears in the photo, but it works perfectly with our dark and black wood finishes.
I highly recommend this bench to anyone looking for a good value.

however, the screws that held the top to the back were misaligned...the color is more reddish than darkish, which was fine by me. The seats seemed very sturdy. the bottom and panels between the slats on the bench is masonite, in case anyone cares...

All the pieces arrived undamaged, although NONE of the holes lined up for assembly. I called the manufacturer and their voice mail was full and they listed all the product components that were backordered. The solid wood pieces on the unit are great. But the 4 panels you see in the front are actually thin particle boards that are stained to try and match the really nice wood. After no response from the manufacturer about assembly issues and the quirky look to the 2 woods put together, we returned the item!

The others are right that the bench has a slight cherry undertone and isn't as dark as in picture. But, the wood is a beautiful color and fit perfectly with the Sauder entertainment center in cherry. This bench was easy to put together. The hinges also prevent the doors from slamming on little fingers. Which I needed for my 17 month old. Lots of room for storage. Definitely looks more expensive than it is. I am thinking about getting another one for my bedroom! Great buy!!

Bought this bench and the color is lighter than shown in picture. It was not too bad to put together (took us about 15 minutes), but some of the sections are made with very cheap board and the colors do not match well.
