Good Hammock, but description misleading

This is a great portable hammock, but the pillow, cup holder, and magazine holder were not included with the one I received. Nor was the woman that was clearly shown occupying the hammock on the picture on the box. Either mine was shipped without her or the description for this item is very misleading. I contacted the manufacturer, but they would not take me seriously and became rude after my 11th or 12th call. The hammock was quite nice though.

Small, uncomfortable, doesn't swing and not portable

Well, you can get the gist of my review from the title. I love Target and prefer to shop there over other stores; but some items aren't the best deal. This hammock is one of them. Yes it is relatively small and portable (albeit pretty heavy if you plan to carry it any considerable distance); but I could not get comfortable in it and it does not really 'swing' as a hammock. I ended up buying a different model at [another retailer] for the same price that was bigger and had more features. I don't particularly like [the other retailer] but in this instance it had the better product for the same price. I really don't think most people will be impressed by this hammock, and there are better ones out there...

I bought this quickly before Labor Day, and took it that weekend, and the following weekend, on two camping trips.
Pluses:
Sets up easily.
Packs up easily.
Very compact.
Doesn't need trees, or other special tools/setup to be safe (as with a traditional hammock).
Unlike other reviewers, I didn't have any problems with it dragging the ground. I'm a 250 lb. woman (5' 6"). However to get out of the thing, the easiest way is to kneel on to the ground. You can't just stand up out of it.
Minuses:
It is heavy, I wouldn't want to carry it further than the car to the campsite.
It's a little tippy, and low to the ground. Takes some balance to get in and out. Some adults tipped getting in and out.
Overall, it met my needs. I was relaxing with a magazine in minutes flat. So, I'm really happy with it!

Looked like a great idea for the cottage. It was even easy to pack and unpack however once i got in it I couldn't get out of it quick enough. I found it unstable and very uncomfortable. It doesn't hold you like a hammock, it's more like lying on a 2x4 on a swivel. Baught it today, taking it back tomorrow!

I wouldnt recommend this hammock to anyone. It isnt particularly comfortable and is very VERY heavy. The carry bag comes with backpack straps but i wouldnt ever consider throwing this 30lb hammock on my back for a weekend camping trip or a day at the beach.
On a positive not, the contruction is sturdy and its very simple to set up.
If you are looking for a hammock to lounge in and possibly have a partner in then definately spend the extra $ and buy a full size hammock cause this isnt going to do it.

Hammock is very low to the ground. If you sit in the middle you drag on the bars in the middle. It is also a bit tricky to get out of since it is so low to the ground. I am taking mine back. It folds up nice, but is a bit heavy as well.

This hammock sank too low to the ground, to the point that I felt like I was bent in half.

We purchased this hammock 2 years ago. It has survived 2 summers of nearly daily use. The hammock is somewhat easy to set up. It unfolds easily, but can be difficult to get the locking pins in...sometimes I ask my husband to do it. I agree that you can drag on the floor (my 6'3", 280# hubby doesn't even try to sit on it), but it holds my 160# okay...I just can't lay right in the middle or it slings. All in all, its not the most comfortable hammock ever as it is smaller in size, but it is WONDERFUL for camping, indoor set-up (mine stays in the sun room) and reading on a nice summer afternoon. If your looking for portability, its wonderful...if you want a large hammock to stretch out in, buy a standard one.

My 5th grader is only 115lbs, yet he also found himself "hitting the ground". The end pieces are cheap plastic that broke while he was sleeping in it.

Just got this for my husband's Birthday. He is 5ft 11" and he fit on it very comfortably. He really likes it alot. A little too heavy to carry it around. But definitely easy to set up. It took me only 3 mins to set up and I am 5ft tall. We have 2 girls, and I will not suggest letting them both go on it at the same time. They are loving it too. Very sturdy and portable.
